While she's been busy recording the follow-up to 20102s Endlessly , soulful UK songstress Duffy just uploaded a live rendition of "Trust In Me"-one of Etta James ' many classics (and my personal favorite Etta James song)-in honor of the late singer's birthday today, January 25. Seated next to a white baby grand piano, Duffy delivers a gorgeous, powerful performance of the song, which was originally penned in 1937 and popularized by James back in 1961. I absolutely love it. Rest in peace, Etta.
recorded back nine years ago when collaborating with the SOREN MOUNIR in Switzerland, the DUFFY has put together a lil mp3 in tribute to the KINGS OF OUR TIMES . the ADELE doesn't get a mention fyi. wotyougot

I know, I know, I know, its HAS been done a million x over x 10 trillion. However, Duffy is a major love of my life. I do forgive her for the sophomore record which shall remained unnamed and I LOOK forward to the majorness that shall cometh from her next year. I hear it is going to be a hotter item than panties at Lady Gaga's house. For now, watch her brilliant & gorgeous cover of Nat King Cole 's classic, below.
the DUFFY spreads the festive joy, from the back of a cab, covering the NAT KING COLE's CHRISTMAS SONG . wotyougot

Sometimes, when I'm wide awake in dreamland (to quote the title of one of Pat Benatar's '80s albums, her final one to go gold), I fantasize about a world where Benatar is a chart superstar again. But that's one dream that won't likely be coming true. I once had a conversation with a publicist for EMI Records, an affiliate of Benatar's then-label, Chrysalis Records (a publicist who, incidentally, later married Curt Smith from Tears for Fears, speaking of comebacks that would be most welcome) right around the time that Benatar's 1993 Gravity's Rainbow album flopped.

by teepoo If you've ever heard of Ladyhawk , well Duffy and the Doubters is basically them except on some kind of super drug that makes this project a super fast-paced one. No complaints here, especially if you can produce songs with such awesome titles. Duffy and the Doubters- Sorry Mom My Brain is Dumb
Urban Noize are two twin brothers who decided to start producing based out of Miami, Florida. In light of their Adele x Jay-Z x Kanye West mashup mixtape dropping soon (October 21) they've been releasing a ton of remixes. "Chi-City" combines Common's "Chi-City" and Duffy's "Hard For The Heart". They give the original a really atmospheric and dramatic over tone. You can go through their remixes on their SoundCloud page , a lot of good stuff. Download Urban Noize Chi-City (Common x Duffy) (Urban [...]

The cornucopia of undiscovered musical bounty that is SoundCloud (which we still have to search using Google Advanced Search) has yielded a rich end-of-the-week harvest! Behold: Gotta start with Dirtyloud's remix of Snow Patrol's "Called Out In The Dark." My favorite part is at 1:30, when the bass just hits it right on. Called Out In The Dark - Miracle Fortress Remix by Snow Patrol Dirtyloud's take on Afrojack's "Selecta" is not labeled as dubstep, but it should be. Mostly synth [...]

Urban Noize created a masterpiece with this one blending Common's Chi-City with Duffy's Hard For The Heart .
Fenech-Soler have had quite a manic year, in part owing to lead singer Ben Duffy's cancer diagnosis and the rerouting of some early 2011 dates to this month. But the band played 28 - 28?!? - festivals this summer and we're very pleased that Ben was able to take time out of his busy schedule to answer some of our burning questions. I ask him about their synth gear, if there's a Fenech-Soler clothing line up ahead and more. I was also extremely selfish and asked about a possible special dance under certain circumstances, [...]
Tres Melankolik by Dermot Duffy (incl. Tracklist). Style: Deep House
Ben Duffy, the frontman for electropop band from Kings Cliffe Fenech-Soler , did double duty for us here at TGTF. Not only did he answer our Quickfire Questions , he also gave us some further moments of his time to answer some more queries of the soul-searching variety. His answers to the Quickfires are below - bet you didn't know that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, or that his preferred vocation was doing something high up in the sky, did you? - and stay tuned, the rest of our [...]
Dermot Duffy - That Detroit Sound From Way Out Volume Six. Style: Detroit Techno, Deep House

The Washington Post recently published an opinion piece arguing that the Kennedy Center should honor Sly & The Family Stone: There's no band more deserving. Sly and the Family Stone's multi-race, mixed-gender lineup epitomized the social idealism of 1960s America, and the group's protest songs melted genres with a funky, euphoric electricity that has never been matched. via Kennedy Center should honor Sly and Family Stone, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell - The Washington Post . Of course I agree, and I was particularly pleased to see the emphasis on Sly's [...]

Photo by G. Duffy Well, well, well! It's Duffy's birthday today. I love her music so much. She's got a very powerful voice and I've seen her live several times and her great sound is not studio magic. I've met Duffy before and I have to say that she was incredibly nice. Needless to say, I don't like when not nice things happen to nice people. I've read that (so let's hope it's false) that Duffy made 900 appearances to promote her first album "Rockferry," in [...]

we gave you Phil 's track few weeks ago now here is the superlovely video moarrrrr magic!
