Dum Dum Girls at MHOW in February ( more by Amanda Hatfield ) As mentioned , Dum Dum Girls are releasing their new EP, End of Daze , on September 25 via Sub Pop. The girls dropped the EP's single, "Lord Knows," back in August , and now they've got the whole EP streaming a week ahead of its release. You can listen to it below (via Stereogum ). As discussed, the band will play a release [...]
With the classic rock styled opening clack and pop of the drum-kit on "Lord Knows," it's clear that the Dee Dee and the Dum Dum Girls are no longer your proverbial female noise-pop outfit, but a band that is looking to tackle something more. Dee Dee's balladic vocals are unlike anything we've heard from her before, and they demonstrate a skill-set, both as a songwriter and a singer, that take her to another artistic level. In short, "Lord Knows" is an ambitious track that the Dum Dum Girls completely own; they shot for the stars and made it look easy. [...]
The Dum Dum Girls have been on a serious roll this past year, making the art of creating timeless, emotion-heavy indie pop-rock seem as easy as blinking, and on their new EP End of Daze (officially due September 25th, but stream-able here ) the band show little signs of easing back, cooking up five more doses of retro-tinted ear comfort to keep fans satisfied until the next go 'round. While a significant portion of their recent work carries an air of sounding like its been around forever, with [...]

Dum Dum Girls ' newest EP End Of Daze won't be out officially until September 25, but Sub Pop is streaming all five tracks already. It's what you expect from the all-girl foursome; glorious lo-fi, 60s-inspired pop, rich in dreamy vocals. Check the whole thing out below.
If Only In Dreams , and untameable debut album I Will Be , made you fall in love with Dee Dee and Dum Dum Girls , then upcoming 5 track EP, End of Daze , will push you over the edge; your love will become wholehearted obsession. With a more crisp and clear resonance, as opposed to previous lo- or mid-fi 60s sounds characteristic of Dum Dum Girls, End of Daze marks a revolutionary development in the music of this quirky bunch of feminine rock idols. Similarly, it appears that thematically, the girls have [...]

Brooklyn postmodern rock duo Lymbyc Systym (brothers Jared and Mike Bell) release their third album, Symbolyst , this week via Western Vinyl. The 10-track effort was recorded in bits and pieces over the last three years while Mike was living in Japan and Jared was studying graphic design in Brooklyn. Reflecting the album title, the pair took a Symbolist approach to recording, referencing " The Jackson 5’s funk, Jung’s dream theory, Bergman’s existentialism, Baudelaire’s prose, and Wright’s organic architecture." Despite varying time zones [...]
Dee Dee , Jules , Sandy and Malia aka Dream Pop Princess's of darkness Dum Dum Girls return towards the back end of this month with End Of Daze . A five track EP which sees the ladies on sparkling lyrical form along with the now trademarked muted, fuzzed out riot grrrl 'gazing and heart tugging dark melodies. Dum Dum Girls were originally the work of just Dee Dee (or more formally New York resident Kristen Gundred ) [...]
We've been psyched about Dum Dum Girls ' new EP End of Daze since we first sampled an acoustic version of "Mine Tonight" and its wistful first single "Lord Knows," and now Sub Pop has made the entire five-song record available for streaming. Frontwoman Dee Dee's songwriting has matured since the whirlwind, ramshackle pop-punk of her early recordings, but her songs still have an electrifying, bluesy drive that makes them catchy, endlessly replayable, and totally irresistible. Our favorites on the first listen are "Mine Tonight" (even if you didn't like the acoustic version Dee [...]

With the other four, Dum Dum Girls continue similar, yet ever engaging territory. The band is currently streaming the [...]
