Shorthanded Goals is a feature that melds the best of both worlds. More new artists wanting to catch your eyes and ears and hearts – whether they be free giveaways from albums I’ve already covered, or free tracks sent to me that I never got the chance to listen to from bands/readers/whoever, or maybe even the usual PR and label goodies that arrive on the regular. These are the tracks I end up missing, so you get first dibs. Think of yourself as the last line of defense. Don’t let these sounds disappear! [...]
True fans of music spend countless hours searching for that next great song, album or artist, whether it be online or in a local record shop. The beautiful thing about music in today’s age is that technology has created an infinite supply of great music that is available to us at the click of a mouse. How perfect is that? We can discover a brand new artist on the opposite side of the globe in seconds without a radio or a music television channel. It only makes sense that a website so dedicated to this gorgeous universe of music would [...]

On its sophomore full-length, psych pop project Dumbo Gets Mad is sounding a little more chaotic-and slightly less enjoyable because of it. WATCH THE REVIEW

One of the biggest rewards of having a large record collection in middle school was the ability to candidly witness the reactions of my friends when they were exposed to genres unknown. The first time I showed my Jonas Brothers-adoring peers psychedelic rock, indie pop, and experimental music, it was like feeding a toddler chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream for the first time. Their curiosities were set ablaze and nothing was the same anymore. The experience parallels the relationship between a record store employee and an inquisitive customer. A similar satisfaction is fulfilled, like John Cusack’s Rob Fleming guarantees to [...]

Dumbo Gets Mad is an Italy by-way-of Los Angeles psych pop duo that released its sophomore LP Quantum Leap on Bad Panda Records this week. It's a synth-heavy auditory assault that covers every centimeter of the sonic space in a manner that's pleasantly disorienting, like the bleary-eyed view just after a mid-party, over-zealous bong rip. Your smile feels permanent. You're dancing, but you might fall over any minute, because the only thing that's registering in your mind are the circus-like synth lines and distorted vocals bouncing off the walls of the room. Listen [...]

Just like every other one.
We're premiering a new track from Italian psych pop project Dumbo Gets Mad titled "American Day." It's one of many weird, psychedelic, experimental, and bubbly cuts from the DGM's upcoming album, Quantum Leap , which is gonna be released toward the beginning of February on Band Panda Records. Enjoy, and check out my review of Elephants At the Door right here .

Blog's favorite band, Dumbo Gets Mad will release their long awaited album "Quantum Leap" on February 6th via Bad Panda Records. I'm specially excited after listening to some of the tracks in the album like "Bam, Bam" and " Radical Leap"; they've managed to make a non-fan of Psychedelic music into a lover. Dumbo Gets Mad - Radical Leap [...]

Italian experimental-pop/psychedelic duo Dumbo Gets Mad create some pretty rad tunes and this song "Tahiti Hungry Jungle" is their re-imagination of rising rapper Azealia Banks ' "Liquorice." Quite the random song to cover, but Dumbo Gets Mad is not a conventional band and it is why I love them. The cover will be on their sophomore album, Quantum Leap , due out February 6th via Bad Panda Records . Stream the cover song below. Fresh? [...]
