New Orleans' own Dumpstaphunk are gearing up for a big few weeks in their hometown during Jazz Fest. Not only will Dumpstaphunk perform at the Fairgrounds during the festival itself, but the band has announced three additional appearances and a preview party spotlighting their new album - Dirty Word. HT faves Dumpstaphunk brought the funk to NYC's Brooklyn Bowl on March 23rd, where the Ivan Neville-led act treated fans to a mix of new material from Dirty Word - an album set to be released later this year, originals from throughout their 10-year career and a cover of Funkadelic's One Nation Under A Groove. Eight years later HeadCount will celebrate the close of its 3rd election season of a job well done by teaming up with Magic Hat , CEG Presents and Nolafunk for a four-night HeadCount Participation Party tour featuring Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk and Anders Osborne. Last night HT faves Wilco concluded their three-night New York City run with a dare we say epic 28-song marathon show at Terminal 5. The Equifunk music festival returns to Camp Equinunk in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains for its fifth installment on August 17th - 19th. New Orleans funkmeisters Galactic will headline this year's event. Other acts on the just-announced bill include Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, headlining Friday night, West Coast funk act Orgone, groove-rockers Pimps of Joytime and the best Led Zeppelin cover band going, Bustle In Your Hedgerow, as well as noted remix artists RAC.
