Liars - No Barrier Fun
Happy Fifth of July, loyal readers! Thursday, July 5th Liars, Cadence Weapon at The Great American Music Hall Liars' sonic journey has been a diverse and impressive one. ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ is an almost-awesome summer blockbuster

‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ is an almost-awesome summer blockbuster What happens when you take the classic story of Snow White, crank up up the dark and supernatural dial, have it take place in Westeros or Middle Earth, and throw in breathtaking landscapes and visually stunning battle scenes? You are off to creating an incredibly intriguing film. Now you add in Twilight star Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Thor hearthrob Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman and the Oscar Winning Charlize Theron as the evil queen Ravenna. Now your film is about to blow itself up because it is full of so much [...]

Bargain Bin Beauties: Mississippi Records Road Trip

Our trip down to Portland in early September for Music Fest Northwest was admittedly just as much a trip for the record stores as it was for the live music. They are all over. Mississippi Records in North Portland's Mississippi district was probably the most interesting place to us with a varied selection that doesn't [...]

Some Music You Should Hear

Some Music You Should Hear And it’s time for a record round up. All of the following are heartily recommended, and if you can’t trust your old pal Nazz, then all hope is lost! The New Rochelles: “It’s New” - The second or third or fifteenth coming of the Ramones. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. 12 songs in 14 minutes. They cop every important aspect of Duh Brudders (same surnames, snappy toonage, whacked out song subjects) without the annoying stuff (oh wait a minute, there is no annoying stuff when it comes to The Ramones [...]

The band played as a four-piece - too many members have come and gone over [...]
