Although Seattle's Dyme Def hasn't released new music since last December's full length release of Yuk The World, group members Fearce & BeanOne have been steadily dropping new material, which include their mixtape There Goes The Neighborhood, in addition to several leaks, as well as a hail of videos for their songs "Let It Be," "I Want It All," and "Bully," the latter of which shed's light on the international epidemic. For the duo's latest leak "That Aint Hip Hop???," Fearce challenges your right to judge what is or is not Hip-Hop over BeanOne's moving guitar loops and boom-bap percussion. [...]

photo by Nate Watters Whereas some rappers call in help from a roster of label producers and MCs, local hip-hop collective Dyme Def contains the whole package. They've got three (count 'em, three) unique and engaging MCs in S.E.V., Fearce Villan, and Brainstorm, and a library of singularly creative beats from Bean One. Their lyrical interplay and palpable chemistry hearkens back to the golden age of hip hop where it was all about two MCs and a DJ, and although Dyme Def is rooted in the classics, Bean One's forward-thinking production keeps their sound [...]
It's about that time of year again. The Seattle legends bless the airwaves and the internet at the same damn time. To peep the rest of the show shoot the J.

It's been a while since I've posted up anything from the pride of Seattle, Dyme Def (a good couple of years in fact). So let's right that wrong right now. Ladies and gents, may I present to you, Errythang Gang, the latest side project from DD member Brain and a gentleman by the name of Young Gizzle (I'm hoping that's pronounced with a 'g' rather than a 'j' sound). I know very little about Errythang Gang (aside of the wealth of information I've laid on you above), but a good song is [...]

Sitting in a clearing looking out over the gorge, hundreds of miles in any direction, it's difficult to recall the draw of even the most beautiful cities in the world. Open land, rolling hills, and, of course, the gorge itself cutting down into the Columbia River conjure up dreams of saying, "Fuck it!" and becoming that wandering hippy with a permanent smile that all of our parents are terrified we would eventually become. Then, just off to my right I see three of said perma-smilers and decide to go see some music then head back to Vancouver and my comfortable [...]

Alright, you're half way there. Maybe exhausted, maybe not. If so, you have one choice. Overdose on the coffee you brought, or if you forgot to, head to the convenience store and grab a large one. Alternatively, there are always energy drinks... Today your day should also be kicking off at midday. No sleeping in, Hey Marseilles and The Staves are on offer right at the day's start. You've also got to juggle between checking out Todd Barry or Here We Go Magic as well as choose between The [...]
After five years and breaking one million YouTube hits, FearceVill of Seattle's Dyme Def unearths the standout single "Let It Be," off their debut release Space Music . Produced by crew member BeanOne, which barrows from the classic Beatles record of the same title, the video details Fearce's struggle with his abusive childhood, estranged father, love, infidelity, success and health as it concludes with the realization that he's become his own enemy. Stay tuned for FearceVill and BeanOne's forthcoming free release, [...]
