Am I completely sold on Kilo Kish just yet? Not entirely, but that doesn't mean I'm not intrigued by her musical output. That's especially true when it comes to her new K+ mixtape, which features an absolutely crazy lineup of guests and producers. The likes of Earl Sweatshirt , The Internet , SBTRKT , Flatbush Zombies, Vince Staples , and Star Slinger appear on here, making this is a must-download for anyone diggin' even one of those acts. Why? Because it'll definitely be interesting to hear how they'll complement Kish's coy, hushed vocals [...]

Though I'm the sort of guy that likes his Primus in normal 2-D, this Sasquatch 2013 lineup is packed with some serious good energy. You've got The Postal Service reuniting (and maybe Ben Gibbard runs in to Danny Brown randomly and he's all like "You wanna collab?" Because, like that seems like something that would happen nowadays) and indie megas like Sigur Ros, Vampire Weekend, The XX, and Arctic Monkeys. And everyone is allowed to smoke pot. Like legally. I think. Check out the trailer below. As an added bonus watch a video [...]

Sasquatch! 2013 (May 24-27, 2013) The lineup for the 2013 Sasquatch! Music Festival (May 24-27, 2013) dropped this morning/last night with a bomb. Headliners for this year’s festival include: Mumford & Sons, The Postal Service, The xx, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and Vampire Weekend . For my money, this is a pretty great looking festival lineup. (If I were a betting man, I'd say this one will sell out even faster than any year's past.) Four day Sasquatch Festival passes go on sale to the general public on Feb [...]

Festival line-up announcement season is in full swing, reminding us that the cold will soon let up and we'll be able to rock out to our favorite music in the sunshine. Every year, we rave about how incredible Sasquatch! Festival is, with the breathtaking views of The Gorge in Washington and the laid back vibes you get camping with mostly Northwesterners and Canadians (they are SO nice). This year is no different. The Postal Service continue their tour of festivals with a headlining gig this year, joining Mumford [...]

Every Memorial Day, I think about a flying to Portland and making the drive to Washington for Sasquatch. I haven't been this "jazzed" about a festival lineup in quite some time due to the amount of music festivals making the rounds. It's probably the most complete lineup (headliners not included) and the Postal Service is near the top. SASQUATCH! NYC up-and-comer Kilo Kish is gearing up to drop a new mixtape, K+ , sometime soon and it's got one hell of a guest lineup: Flatbush Zombies , CRONOS, Childish Gambino (ugh), SBTRKT , The Internet , Star Slinger , ASAP Ferg , Vince Staples , Earl Sweatshirt , and Nick Hook . The Zombies appear on this smoked-the-fucked-out track "Creepwave", which is definitely getting Kish off to a great start. If the rest of the tape sounds like this? Sheeeeeit . [ via ]

Kilo Kish is working on her latest mixtape and according to Pitchfork some of the artists featured on the project will be Earl Sweatshirt, Flatbush Zombies, A$AP Ferg, Star Slinger, and SBTRKT. Buzz started to pick up on the Brooklyn singer/rapper when she opened up for SBTRKT at Terminal 5 in NYC last fall. The artist will also be hosting an art event in NYC on February 1 at Los Kabayitos Theater in New York showcasing her and her friends artwork. Peep the press release for everything Kilo Kish after the jump. [...]

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF AN ACTUAL ALBUM(S) BUT A NEW FEATURE IN WHICH WE OUTLINE A PROJECT(S) WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE HAPPEN. After bursting onto the scene in 2008 with production credits for Lil B, Sha Stimuli and the like, Clams Casino 's signature production style became highly sought after in the hip-hop community. But as more and more people were surely knocking on his door, he continued to only release music with a small number of artists. By 2011 he had only dropped one official solo project in the [...]

BY JORDAN MAINZER A true Renaissance man. Music video director Hiro Murai has worked with the likes of St. Vincent, Earl Sweatshirt, and David Guetta (yes, David Guetta, making his FP debut). Recently, I spoke with Murai over the phone about his creative process, his inspirations, and why he has a case of musician envy. (This interview originally appeared on my art and design blog, DRA .) Frontier Psychiatrist: Describe your process. To what extent does the artist collaborate with you or have a vision for the [...]

In the recent past, gothic style has been outsider-y thing deemed not very cool by most of the mainstream, but that is slowly and surely changing. Over the past few years, gothic influence has been infiltrating culture, even in the most unexpected places like pop and hip-hop. Shit, there is even a thing happening called " street goth ." The music and aesthetics of Grimes, Crystal Castles, Purity Ring, Salem and other popular indie acts are embracing the darker things in life, so we decided to imagine what some other less likely goth candidates might look like if they follow [...]
Like everything else in the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All realm 'The OF Tape Vol. 2' is misleading from the get go. Despite its sequel suggesting title and budget album cover this the Los Angeles shock-rap crew's first proper full release since they got signed. It's true that 'Channel: ORANGE' deservedly got a lot of attention [...] The post Cougar Microbes Top Albums of 2012: Odd Future - The OF Tape Vol. 2 appeared first on Cougar Microbes .

Phew... when it rains on this here blog, it absolutely buckets it down. No posts for almost a fortnight, then five-going-on-six posts in a day? I'll try to keep it more consistent, promise. But what better way to top of a deluge of posts than a tasty mix tape? So let's hand it over to a gent by the name of Lowbudget, who's put together a fine selection of modern-day boom bap for your ears. En Route has been compiled to mark [...]
Former presidential candidate "Mitt Romney" and “Barack Obama” team up for this fan made visual to Earl's three-year old Pigeons track. Video: Earl Sweatshirt - Pigeons (feat Tyler The Creator) is a post from: That Hip Hop Blog
