2. OK GO y el Chevrolet Sonic [...]

On one of my edit digs I decided to see if there were any decent re-workings of "The Killing Moon". I played the original once during a Summer arvo set at the Uni bar and despite its dreary vibe it went down pretty well as an unexpected drop. It's always worth seeing if someone has it on their edit radar, so after a bit of Gen Y crate digging aka Googling, this is what I came up with: an edit with additional bass, piano and brass section, making this 'All That Jazz' mix by Steve Griffiths kind of cute and [...]

Now that I have a great turntable and pre-amp, I've been visiting the archives to see which albums and singles deserve to be re-recorded and re-posted. Obviously, the soundtrack to Urgh! A Music War was one of the first on the list. These new recordings sound light-years better than my last attempt, and I highly recommended you download them even if you have an older copy I posted. I've talked about Urgh! several times over, so I'll keep the intro brief. It's an amazing document of a time period in music, when the punk [...]

We know you like to trick or treat, carve pumpkins, or party for All Hallows Eve. Well, you need great tunes to do it. We've put together a playlist that will make the scene jump for a spooktacular good time. Music Player: [...]

we gave you the track already, now here is the video killing kids is moaaar amazing than ever before
Tonight at the Olympia Theatre Echo and The Bunnymen are touring their classic Ocean Rain album, something that we fear will be a test of the pipes of main man Ian McCulloch. Having seen him croak through the last two shows we've attended, there's a real risk that he's shot his bolt and after some rudimentary versions of some of the hits, and some of the newer stuff, the questions over Mac's voice start up in our mind again. Singing the chorus to 'Never Stop' an octave lower than the record might be testament to this. [...]
It's been a while since Echo & the Bunnymen were in Dublin. On Friday (September 23rd ) they returned to The Olympia Theatre to perform1984 album Ocean Rain in it's entirety, with an orchestra and in style. Backlighted for effect and engulfed by dry ice, the band appeared silhouetted on stage, the perfect setting for both them [...]

When the bassist from Oberhofer emailed me about his other project, Jeane, I got excited, mostly because I was impressed with Oberhofer's latest single . Jeane is a new band, started by New Yorker Paul Dally [...]

Echo and the Bunnymen , a band known for their soulful and chilling post punk/neo psychedelic rock are set to release their 11 th studio album entitled "The Fountain" on Tuesday, November 10 th . The album is the 12 th studio album collaboration between the two remaining original members, singer Ian McCulloch and guitarist Will Seargent if you count their 1995 grunge collaboration, Electrafixion's "Burned". The album is a soaring return to form for the band, which has endured through band tensions, critical acclaim, commercial success, the replacement of their lead singer, complete disbandment, death, their reformation [...]

Echo and The Bunnymen are slated to release a new album called "The Fountain" on October 13th. If their lead single "Think I Need It Too" is any indication we are in for a thrilling ride. The remaining Bunnymen (Ian McCulouch and Will Sergeant) have found a fountain of creativity within themselves and have delivered their most blistering upbeat rock tune in quite some time. Oh! And They are playing their seminal 1984 album "Ocean Rain" live with a full orchestra! Here are the dates! Oct 12 2009 [...]

NYC based art-rock group stellastarr* have released a new song called "Numbers" via their Myspace from their forthcoming album. The track rocks with all the rough edges and innovative female backing vocals we've come to expect from the haunting and harmonious quartet. The band have also recently sold out their 5 night residency at NYC's Piano's. stellastarr* Myspace stellastarr* - Stay Entertained stellastarr* - Somewhere Across Forever Strange Glue Interview With Shawn Christensen AZLTRON MUSIC [...]

It's that time of year again, the leaves have changed color , it's getting colder, the winter is creeping in on us, and yes there will be drunken Halloween parties. Being the generous individual that I am I am going to share with you my custom Halloween mix of 2008. So dress up as Joe the Plumber, Sarah Palin, a French Maid with a breezy chemisier, or just as a sorority girl in her underwear and enjoy the tunes that I have compiled for this Halloween season. After all, you're the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. [...]

A seguire, l'intera classifica. 10. "I Am The Walrus" - Oasis 9. "It Won't Be Long" - The Quick 8."Eleanor Rigby" - Godhead [...]

San Francisco based rock group The New Up have crafted an EP entitled Broken Machine that calls on psychadelic influences as well as garage rock influences. They sound something like if you took Midnight Movies, Metric, and The Stills, put them in a blender with some vanilla yogurt, a flute and set it to high. Thier rock is smooth linear affair with some added guitar crunch once in a while, like a female fronted late 80's era Echo & The Bunnymen. Pretty neat. The New Up - Ginger Tea The [...]
