Fans expecting Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros to come out with 'Up From Below' part two may have been slightly underwhelmed by the band's follow up 'Here'. Whereas the band's debut may well have represented a joyous trip culminating in a grandiose dramatic sunset desert scene this sophomore effort is more like the ensuing [...]

On Further Review By Julie Stoller Alex Ebert, lead singer, guitarist and front-man of the traveling hippie carnival that is Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros , wants you to believe he is a true believer. He made it through an addiction and 12-step program, and then met fellow vocalist, guitarist and comrade Jade Castrinos. Together they put together the 10+ friends who would roam the world, spreading a ‘60s vibe and timeless message of peace and understanding with youthful reckless abandon. [...]
• Facebook • Twitter • Delicious • Email • RSS What a terribly harrowing task it is to make a best of the year list, and really who the hell am I to deem what gets included and what stays on the spreadsheet? Well, I'm a guy with a blog so I guess that's who I am. I thought at first I would have a difficult time gathering 50 albums, quickly I realized that was not the case - there were [...]
It sounds exactly like you'd hope an Edward Sharpe song to sound like...except somehow with a raspier voice.

One of the nifty little vinyl releases that sneaked onto the shelves on Record Store Day was a split 7-inch featuring a previously unreleased song from Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes , "Give Me a Sign," and "Raven's Song," a tune off Aaron Embry's breathtaking album "Tiny Prayers." We missed it a couple months ago, but both songs were on the Community Music Sampler released free via Alex Ebert's indie label. Also on the compilation: Cornelius, Soko, Alexander's collab with The RZA on "Truth" and a song from Christian Letts of the Magnetic Zeroes and Rocco [...]
No matter how "zany" they come off; though the general public may be threatened by their "cult-like" appearance; as music fans we must realize it's OK! Because Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros sophomore release is not to be overlooked. Steadfast in their vision, the album, Here, comes fully realized: no weak spots, just earthy [...]
After one listen to Here, the latest LP from Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, the song "Child" was the one I found myself wanting to repeat. It might be the soft and tender nature of the track, the way Alex Ebert's voice quivers when he repeats the words at the end of several lines, [...]
To tell the truth, I haven't had a ton of time to listen to as much music as I would like it 2012, but these are the songs that stuck out. They're not in much of a particular order, but they all are awesome! 20. Bahamas: "I Got You Babe" BAHAMAS - I Got You [...]

I like this strategy that The Zeroes have adopted, tracks for perusal in this manner. Also, this shit kills. Prepare your feet, for they will stomp. Prepare your hands, for they will clap. Love is our shelter, love is our cause. Love goes on forever, love will lead us all. ** Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes :: That's What's Up [stream] PRE-ORDER Here :: [...]
![[New] Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeroes- That’s What’s Up](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4173835_lg.jpg)
Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes, the indie-folk sensation that brought us "Home", are back with a new single today titled "That's What's Up"- a track that from start to finish soundtracks the summer season before it has even begun. In a way, "That's What's Up" shows the band maturing from their days of singing lines like "cotton candy, pumpkin pie, you're the apple of my eye", a fact they've made known with their first single of 2012 "Man On Fire", while keeping the cutesy, old soul, feel in tact. Letting the low fidelity of "That's What's [...]
