El Goodo - I Saw Her Today El Goodo gör indierock-western och kommer från Wales och det är precis så I Saw Her Today låter. Stundtals påminner det lite om något som The Last Shadow Puppets hade kunnat gjort.

Music video for "Feel So Fine" by El Goodo from the album "Coyote."

El Goodo is a Welsh band that was first noticed by the Super Furry Animals, who released the group's self-titled album under their Placid Casual label. The A.V. Club wrote a few words about the album last year, while NPR picked up on El Goodo's newest effort: "The pulsing drum beat and brawny guitar riffs in the opening bars of "Feel So Fine" kick off the album with an impressive gusto. The entire album echoes many of guitarist Lewie's favorite artists, including The Velvet Underground, The Byrds, and The Doors. Backing vocals [...]

into>>the>>future. El Goodo There's been many recent artists that use the blueprint of 1960s psychedelia. Welsh band El Goodo (not to be confused with El Guapo) is one of the most authentic-sounding of the bunch. It's a result of using the appropriate instruments (vintage Hofner bass, vintage Ludwig drums, Vox Continental, etc) and reverberated vocals. Super Furry Animals took them under their
Friends with and sponsored by fellow Welshpersons Super Furry Animals , El Goodo’s eponymous debut album was released overseas by the Furrys’Placid Casual Records in late 2005. Empyrean Records finally released it in the States last month. You get anticipatory clues of the sound from the title of the first song posted below. I won't recite all the influences; you'll hear them. The band’s name comes from the Big Star song, “The Ballad of El Goodo.†Oh, and the album cover kind of clues you in as well. [...]
El Goodo can't help wearing their influences like a big eared smile. They take huge cues from 60's beatlesesque pop bands and their latter day Elephant 6 led resurgencies. As I have no objections to mining the 60's for influence I see this as a rather huge feather in their collective caps but to make things even more convincing the band was first exposed to the world via fellow countrymen Super Furry Animals. The SFA even signed them and released their first record on their own Placid Casual. Fuzzed up, jangled out and shot through the speakers in glorious three [...]
