The U.K.'s annual Mercury Prize for best album seems more newsworthy than the Grammys to us for a couple of reasons. Saturday's opener were the Gaslight Anthem who, while only having played Pilton Farm once before, made one hell of an impression when they did. None other than The Boss himself joined the New Jersey boys on stage to power through their anthem 'The 59 Sound' before he hit the Pyramid Stage to headline 2 years ago. The Gaslight Anthem this time around were gracing the Pyramid Stage and at first they looked like they were a little overawed by it all. Elbow are set to release their latest single, ' Lippy Kids ' later this year. The band will drop the new single, which is off their latest album ' Build a Rocket Boys! ', on August 8 (U.K.). The single will be released as a digital download as well as on 103 vinyl, with ' Open Arms ' (Recorded at St Paul's Cathedral for Absolute Radio) as the b-side.
