Gottwood Presents 018 - eLDOKO by Gottwood Festival on Mixcloud This week's Gottwood Presents podcast and interview comes courtesy of none other than eLDOKO, one of the main men behind Gottwood, whose forward thinking, jazz and swing infused house music has seen him break through in the last 18 months. With releases on Germany's What! What! records and well received remixes of the likes of James Blake, Monkey Safari and Graphics, the future looks bright [...]

As I'm sure you know by now, Gottwood returns on the 30th June to triple in size. The small festival, nestled away in the woodland, this year boasts an absolutely stonking lineup including Mr Scruff, Lee Foss, Jamie XX, A Guy Called Gerald, Jack Sparrow and Midland. We're very honoured to be hosting a Pelski vs Jackmode stage on the Saturday, headed by Round Table Knights, Monkey Safari and Matanza. A mainstay at Glastonbury, the stage itself is an inflatable dome with a wall of light boxes that are synced to the music - with [...]

I know you might think it's Saturday, but in fact, I'm writing this on a Thursday and giving it a post-dated publish time, seeing as I'll be at BLOC ! Anyway, I've a real treat for you. Two very nice tech-house remixes I came across today. One masterpiece of a remix of James Blake, and one of the nicest XX remixes I've ever heard. Grab a remix of the XX but the download limit hits! Enjoy. James Blake - CMYK (eLDOKO Remix) [...]

Bueno pues aquí les dejo unas bonitas melodías para que se alivianen el frió bailando con unas nenorras, algunas no son tan nuevas pero valen la pena así que orale chaviza denle play. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Garden Brenmar - Taking It Down Nicone and Sascha Braemer - Nur Mal Kurz (Philip Bader Remix) Renaissance Man International Edit Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar (Tensnake Remix) [...]

We've a whole host of goodies here, mostly courtesy of our partners in crime Jackmode: I can't stop playing this lovely, deep remix of Angie Stone classic 'Wish I Didn't Know' by the Danish duo signed to What! What! Records. A flutter of tribal knocks and a reassuring bass drum underlay the familiar, soulful vocals. This freebie has kindly been thrown out to promote MS's latest EP ' Saturday Night Fish '. Monkey Safari - Stoned [pelski highly recommends] Speaking of [...]

Happy Friday everyone, and a very happy belated Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans. Hope you all had a fantastic feast last night and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. This is my first Thanksgiving at home since I left for university, so I'm making the most of it even if it means missing Zeds Dead, Skrillex and The Killabits at Club Soda tomorrow. If you're still in Montreal and are planning on going to the show, I have some new Zeds Dead today that's sure to get you pumped. Otherwise enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'm gonna [...]

Tom Elkington, or eLDOKO , has been on my radar since sweetFA did a post a couple months ago on Woodworm Blues , eLDOKO's debut EP on Monkey Safari 's What! What! label. Since then, Elkington has been working on a few remixes, two of them I felt the need to share with you today. According to his Soundcloud bio, eLDOKO finds and executes a fusion between Jazz, Swing, Tech, and House, resulting in a unique sound that you'd be hard-pressed to sleep on. Grab these goodies and let me know what you think. [...]

Last couple of months, I've been keeping an eye out for eLDOKO , also known as Tom Elkington, who's been putting out some pretty groovy house beats lately. A resident at Oxford's Eclectricity, and curator of the Gottwood Festival, eLDOKO's somehow found time to put out his debut EP Woodworm Blues , via Monkey Safari 's What! What! label. Pushing an in-the-pocket fidget and jazz-house sound, title track 'Woodworm Blues' wouldn't sound out of place on Jesse Rose 's What Do You Do If You Don't? record - In fact, [...]
Daniel over at Jackmode Agency (home to among others Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team, Solo, Round Table Knights, Renaissance Man, Justin Martin, Christian Martin, Camel, Zombie Disco Squad) have been stepping up the game lately with a string of spectacular signings and it feels like they're about to take over with an ever expanding empire. Yesterday saw an e-mail pop up in our inbox filled to the brink with bootleg goodies courtesy of Camel, Monkey Safari, Homework, Worthy & Yankee Zulu, J Phlip, Pol On and Beware & Motorpitch. Camel - Akin [...]

The next installment from Jackmode arrived in my inbox late last night with no less than 4 tracks from their artists so lets get down to business. First up is an awesome original track from Deadfish's own Camel then straight onto Jackmode new boy's and Amsterdam's whizzkid's Homework with their remix of the massive 'Dinosaurs With Guns' from Teki Latex. Up next is an exclusive bootleg of Eldoko's 'Wormwood Blues' from Monkey Safari and finally a monster of a bootleg of 'La Mezcla' from Beware & Motorpitch . Don't forget [...]

That bumpy minimal house sound has been spreading far and wide over the last few years. Deadfish; Sound Pellegrino; Exploited; What! What! Records... all quirky offspring of the mighty Made To Play and Dirtybird imprints, the dons of fun, sample-based house... First up, Exploited head-honcho Shir Khan has sent over a remix by duo of the moment, Yolanda Be Cool, who've featured on Pelski in the past. Their recent, and frankly slightly annoying, 'We No Speak Americano', has plagued the radio and Ministry of Sound comps. For me, however, their earlier ' [...]
Als ich vor ein paar Wochen zufällig jemanden der in Halle studiert hatte kennenlernt hab, kam mir als erstes eine Frage in den Sinn: "Kennst du What? What?" Naja scheinbar sind die Jungs stadtbekannter als die Bahnhofsnutten, kein Wunder sie können sich ja auch ordentlich sehn lassen mit den neuen Releases! Eldoko - Woodworm Blues by What! What! Records

For those who aren't familiar with the chill out/ lunge music compilation called Buddhar Bar. It's been around for a few years and was created by Claude Challe who took the Tunisian Luxury Chill out/ Lounge scene by storm in 2006 and is now one of the most sought out Lounge/chill music producer sought out in the industry. He produced the whole two first Buddha Bars but now the legacy is carried on by other DJs/Producer. He also has his own personal compilation CDs called Claude Challe. K this first track is [...]

A new annual festival you may or may not have heard about is Gottwood , the perfect opener to the 'festival season' (that is, if you're one of those festival maniacs who refers to it as a 'season'): a two day festival in Wales easy on your wallet (at £60) and an enticing set-up... Gottwood's pull is the eclectic lineup and a truly unique location. Nestled in a forest clearing in the coastal area of Anglesey, you'll hear tonnes of underground live acts and DJs - many of whom you've heard on this blog - spread across [...]

eLDOKO aka Tom Elkington grew up with non-electronic music but curiosity soon led him to a new love for djing. After moving to Oxford and securing regular dj slots, he progressed onto a dedication for production. To date a series of original tracks and remixes that cover a range of downtempo electronica, techno and house have been completed. Expect melodic sample rich songs with a sprinkle of jazz to dance to or simply enjoy on a stroll. 'Run For The Trees' EP consists of three tracks and has received some interest for release in the near future. These two [...]
