Its an attempt to showcase or highlight some of the brilliant artists in this country that I truly admire but don't often write about. This being said, I discovered a large proportion of these artists from leading blogs such as East to West and Life Aquatic . I would never have come across artists such as Network , Dom_Bird , Motion.Picture.Actress and Yosemite if it [...]

From the 21st to the 25th of November, Vice and Triple R will be presenting one of the premiere events of Melbourne Music Week . 'Record & Release' is basically a pop up studio, that will record the sounds of some of Melbourne's most celebrated artists, to release it on a pressed CD 24 hours later. Sounds like sick fun to me. If you ever listened to the Avalanches relaxation tape (got no clue where i got that from), and combined it with some of those weird tracks that the Gorillaz wrote back in the day you might end up with some of Electric Sea Spiders tracks. Very Groovy, easy listening, ambient kind of stuff. Some tracks from his 2009 LP In Lucid Dreams simply do not have a back beat and are merely a collection of unusual tones and chords that's just "woaaaah [...]
