Hello discoverers, I've got an interesting mix for you today. Nothing too flashy, but a few genres you might not expect to find included in a Discovery post. I suppose that's the beauty of these, they don't have to be defined by a certain set of genres, if they aren't bad, I'll post them. These posts are for those with an open-mind and ear, and a yearning in their hearts for new music. Enjoy.

33 year old American singer/songwriter Mayer Hawthorne proves that when it comes to music, you shouldn't judge a CD by it's album cover. On the outside, Hawthorne looks like a geek/hipster hybrid of some kind but OOOH CHILD ...that voice is sweet as candy. Picture a more soulful, R&B, less jazzy version of Harry Connick Jr . or something like that. Perhaps a more laid back Eli "Paperboy" Reed ? This guy's good, whoever you think he sounds like. This is admittedly my [...]
True Romance By Taylor K. Long This Valentine's Day, enjoy this collection of a handful of my favorite "love songs" and songs about love. Whether you are part of a duo or flying solo-remember this piece of advice: I kept asking Clarence why our world seemed to be collapsing and things seemed to be getting so shitty. You can download the entire mix, here, or [...]

I have so much to write and edit, but I've already been home from Austin for three days and I have to get some SXSW coverage up. Make sure to comment with your highlights, because when you tell SXSW - it's cooler If you'd rather view the album of photos - here it is. [...]
