Elizabeth Ziman knows the exact culture her music appeals to because she has always been a part of it. Born and raised in the artistically relevant Greenwich Village, Ziman became accustomed to a free-spirited, musical lifestyle at a very young age. The Elizabeth And The Catapult frontwoman began studying classical piano as a child and eventually attended the Berklee College of Music for classical music. Australian singer Lenka will tour the U.S. in June alongside Brooklyn trio Elizabeth & the Catapult, starting with New York City's Bowery Ballroom on June 10. Full route on her website , with more dates to be announced. The singer released Two , the follow-up to her 2008 debut, back in April. The video for " You and Me " was the first I'd seen ( AND heard) of Brooklyn-based pop/rock duo Elizabeth & The Catapult (AKA Dan Molad and Elizabeth Ziman ) and I fell in love. The video was quirky and cute and there was something just so alluring about Ziman's vocals AND camera presence.
