Nina Las Vegas is well known for her timely track selection, stylish mixing, and diverse taste in music - which begged the question: what would her first remix sound like? In short, it's dreamy, bassy, post-dubby r&b. The track now has that satisfying shake and shuffle to the rhythm and the chimes are now more prominent in the mix, compared to the og, really giving it that dream pop feel. The entire "Ready" release/remix pack is tight, including another fav, Polographia applying their glorious sound to the mix. Get amongst it. > NINA LAS VEGAS [...]
Trends in music are complex things, and take tack or luck to pinpoint. But they hit you one way or another. One of these epiphanies came to me the other day as I browsed through some of my favorite indie-pop groups. A disproportionate number were Aussie. The Australians must have some gene that has evolutionarily favored indie-pop musicians. RUFUS is one such group. They released RUFUS EP out a little over a year ago, which I am really enjoying. "Paris Collides" was the debut track off the EP, and it layers delectable synths with a steady, pounding bass. A [...]

Elizabeth Rose is ready to go. After releasing the tracks "Crystallise" and "Throw Me The Stars" last year, collaborating with RÜFÜS and dropping tasty remixes for Flight Facilities and Jinja Safari, the Sydney based young electro-pop artist Elizabeth Rose is now gearing up for an exciting 2012. Check out her first official single "Ready", which drops on January 27th, the first taste from her forthcoming EP. Way to go.
Just a few hours ago Sydney duo Flight Facilities shared the video for the single "Foreign Language" , a summery disco pop number featuring Jess Higgs on vocals. Shot and directed by Dimitri Basil, this retro-looking video is the perfect companion for FF's 70s-inspired jam. There is still no official date of release (or title) for a hypothetical debut album by the ever so elusive Australian duo, so for the time being we might as well enjoy a couple of remixes. Beni 's take on "Foreign Language" keeps the original [...]
Seldom do I hear of a female producer, so while partaking in my routine music exploration via the interweb today, coming across Elizabeth Rose was a treat indeed. Not to mention a remix of Flight Facilities' "Foreign Language" was a treat within itself. But enough about my awe for the day, let's discuss the topic at hand: an awesome remix that soothes more than it is invasive, a remix that does not overtake anything going on in front of me while I'm listening to it, a remix that takes a song and (in my opinion) makes it better [...]

No Dice Paradise rolled into The OAF again last night. The monthly night has been pushing some absolutely fantastic music recently. It's monthly, worth checking out. Last night brought Founds , Tank , Elizabeth Rose & Rockets together on a brilliant mixed-bill. All the artists are super independent & super fantastic, so you should check them out. More after the break. Founds put on one of the most intriguing shows I've ever seen, rolling between light & airy [...]

Elizabeth Rose - Stars Ago (RUFUS Remix) Well, around this time last year, one of my favorite songs of the entire summer came out. That song was Alvin Risk's rendition of Laura Veirs' single July Flame . Actually, one our first posts as a blog happened to be this very track (check it out if you wanna good laugh). Those of you reading might be wondering, "What the hell does this have to do with RUFUS' edit of Elizabeth Rose's Stars Ago ?" Well to answer your question, I really don't know myself. [...]
I am currently sitting on a Megabus, outbound from DC, inbound to NYC. I'm going up to visit friends and will be indulging myself in some wonderful big apple shows. Javelin, Beach Fossils, Punches, Ingrosso... it's gonna be a good weekend. Anyways, this free wifi is really making this 5 hours bus ride a pleasant experience and allowing me to post on the go. I've got a great selection of

RüFüS is back with a brand new remix of Elizabeth Rose 's "Stars Ago." This is kind of cool. According to my dear boy Franck (King of On The Fruit Recs ), the band first decided to make their own version of the masterpiece but it slowly turned into an in-studio feature with Elizabeth recording her own vocals on the electro, club-ready remix. mp3 Stars Ago (RUFUS Remix) (DJ Edit) (320kbps) <3

The Australian band RÜFÜS , who we wrote about back in January, are coming out with an EP on On The Fruit Records pretty soon. That should be good, and as a teaser they have just finished off a techno-poppy collaboration with talented Sydney singer Elizabeth Rose . Check out the Fellini homage that is the video, and decide which edit you like the most: Elizabeth Rose - Stars Ago (RÜFÜS Remix) Elizabeth Rose - Stars Ago (RÜFÜS Remix [...]

Sydney trio Rüfüs continue their path to greatness with their latest remix of fellow Aussie Elizabeth Rose . It's one of the remixes that isn't quite a remix, it's more like a collaboration, with Rufus throwing their own vocals into the mix and getting the original vocalist to redo some parts . It's synth driven pop-music that creeps into the world of progressive house but without any of the cheese. It's also very pretty . Download - Elizabeth Rose - Stars Ago (Rüfüs Remix) Preview [...]
Elizabeth Rose is an Australian electronic singer/songwriter who makes beautiful, dreamy electronic music in a similar vein to Fever Ray and Björk. Originally fellow Aussie trio RüFüS set out to reMix Elizabeth's track 'Stars Ago' but ended up in full blown collaboration with the singer who re-recorded her vocals in duet with RüFüS for a more dancefloor oriented track. RüFüS are seriously showing themselves as a force to be reckoned with here, both the production and arrangement in this version are pretty flawless and the sound palette with it's layers of synth lines that seem [...]

Stars Ago (RUFUS Remix) - Elizabeth Rose Australian trio RÜFÜS made their own version of Elizabeth Rose's track "Stars Ago" and sounds really nice. Their forthcoming EP is coming out soon on On The Fruit Records. Download it here . Port-Bagages: mp3: RÜFÜS: "Paris Collides"

Elizabeth Rose - 'Throw me to the Stars' ( mp3 ) Something really fresh here. Elizabeth Rose is a one lady show hailing from Sydney town . More balls than a sports store & charming to boot - coupled with the irresistable jazz charms of 'Throw me to the Stars' and you have one damn fine new artist. I dig the vibe of this track - it feels innocent and raw, but with production belying Elizabeth Rose's youth. It's dark and rough but still bright and ridiculously listenable (unlike this [...]
