This was my first Bonnaroo experience. I seriously doubt it will be my last. Arriving in sweltering heat, with surprising little traffic on the first day of performances. I realized that I'd forgotten to re-stock on sunscreen, so what I'd brought had better last. Nashville was abuzz with thousands of additional out of city/state tourists for the CMA's, something to do everywhere. Honky Tonk's spilling out, not a stark contrast to the oasis of Manchester, Tennessee's grounds where Bonnaroo would be held. Nevertheless, the first day of the four-day musical Christmas saw an eclectic, high-energy slew of artists looking to make an impression. [...]

There's nothing I love more than a music festival. Actually that's a lie, however I do enjoy them immensely. Bonnaroo is up there amongst the world's best, and in North America its main opposition seem to be Coachella and Lollapalooza. Now although Bonnaroo doesn't have live holograms being streamed online in the middle of a desert (helping the rest of world get familiar with an area of California named Indio) and it isn't based in Windy city, it is holding it's own further south east in the city of Manchester, Tennessee.
