Former Emeralds member, Mark McGuire shared a little taste of what he's been working on since the group's dissolution in January. "In Search of the Miraculous", a beautiful, sprawling track is an excerpt from his upcoming album, Along the Way. Complete with a wall of delayed guitars, warm analog synth bass, and a harp, the track slowly builds upon the meditative harmonic progression. It induces a sense of excitement, nostalgia, and wistfulness, with increasing intensity across the tracks' six minutes before settling into a spacious drone.

Stopping over at MTV Hive with a healthy new mix was Seattle producer Lusine (Jeff McIlwain), still coming off his otherwise underrated release The Waiting Room earlier this year off Ghostly International . The one hour 12 minute mix starts off with Emeralds, who McIlwain claims was a " a big inspiration for me on my album." It's been about five months since we previously heard from Floridian producer Sundrenched , who in November 2012 dropped the Beat Studies, Vol. II compilation. We've kept our ear to the virtual ground waiting for some new material from him, though, and that's just what we have here with Emerald . The short-but-sweet, blunted-but-not-really EP houses seven new instrumentals, one of which morphs into a psychedelic YoungBloodZ remix. Pretty rad. The oddly melodic drone band Emeralds announced their breakup earlier this year, but the band's members, including Mark McGuire, have always kept busy with extracurricular activities. And now McGuire has remixed " Letter Of Intent ," the fizzy and lovable new single from Matthew Mondanile's Real Estate side project Ducktails. If anything, McGuire's remix, with its synthetic sheen and vocoderized coos, is an even breezier listen than the original. Guitarist Mark McGuire has left Ohio electronic outfit Emeralds . Fellow member Steve Hauschildt announced the news on his Twitter account, also adding : "Emeralds will continue on as a duo consisting of myself and John. Thank you so much for your continued support over the last seven years." Despite the loss, Hauschildt insists they'll tour stateside, Australia, Europe, and Japan in support of last year's incredibly rich album, Just to Feel Anything .
