Fully Loaded Clips isn't a fantastic mixtape, or even a great one. It's merely really good.
The Blind Side The one question that kept running through my head when I was watching The Blind Side was whose story is this film really telling? The Blind Side is based on the true-life story of Michael Oher's (Quinton Aaron) journey from homeless teen to professional NFL player. Hailing from the Memphis projects, Michael spent a good portion of his time moving from foster home to foster home after the state took him away from his crack addicted mother. [...]
Freeway - Freezer's Back It's criminal how little coverage we've given for Freeway & Jake One's upcoming project, The Stimulus Package. Both the Philly Freezer and the man with the white van have been putting in some really nice work in the past year or two, and the leaks from this project have been consistently strong (did [...]

A couple of issues ago, Rolling Stone called Vampire Weekend's latest album Contra a project that harkens back to the classic Paul Simon work Graceland . Since Graceland stands as one of those albums that defined my childhood, I had to give Contra a try. Maybe the review already planted a seed in my head, but Simons's fingerprints are all over the album. West African drum patters are strewn across the album while lines delivered in "White Sky" sound like they were read from one [...]
Posts relacionados: [...]
Wow, just when we thought the remake of REM's "Everybody Hurts" was huge this comes along. The new recording features production by popular producers RedOne and Will.i.am. The Grammy's have always been overrated in terms of the categories and who wins but I definitely enjoy watching them for the performances. Unfortunately, this year we had someone at CBS with a happy censor finger and instead of hearing the collaboration of the year you heard nothing, especially for us east-coasters. I was looking [...]
The sound of silence. Leave it to these guys to save the Grammys' one real rap performance for the very end, promote it to death in advance, and then censor literally half of the performance wit... Now I really don't care about the Grammy's too much. But had to watch it just so I could see the crazy performance of 'Drop the world' and 'Forever' by the power house of Weezy, Drake and Eminem. To top it off Travis Barker rocking the kit. I guess Kanye isn't invited to things like this anymore. He probably would've walked down and punched Taylor Swift in the mouth or something. Whoever runs the Grammy's was very uncool and took down the footage from youtube, but not even they could stop mother Russia, and this random link I found. The [...]
I never made it 'til this performance last night as I nodded off when Slash entered the stage during the Jamie Foxx and T-Pain performance. 'Drop This World' is easily the best track off "Rebirth" mostly thanks to the great production by Hit-Boy & Chase N. Cashe (will unleash my review of the album in a few hours, stay tuned). However, here's the uncensored version of the Lil Wayne x Eminem x Drake performance for those who also missed it: As an extra treat, received this remix of Drake's 'Forever' some days ago [...]

It's been a week or so since I wrote anything. Writer's block? Laziness? Nothing to write about? Who knows? I've been sitting on this topic for a few days & now I feel the time is write to truly express my outrage (probably not the right word). Coachella, in case you live in a cave (talking to you Osama), is a 3 day music festival in Indio, California in April every year that highlights some of the most amazing bands & usually showcases new & old alike. This year, however, the lineup is shit. Talk about getting right to the [...]
Seems like we've been here before , Grammy's. The award show is teetering on the edge of exploitation. Follow me here. The Grammy head honchos know where their bread is buttered. They know that Hip-Hop is at the forefront of the musical landscape, so their headline performance (for the second year in a row, mind you) comes from Hip-Hop artists. Yet, where is the music represented in the awards? No album of the year nominations and most of the category's awards were given out off-camera. It's like they know that the [...]
So yesterday, it was the 52nd annual Grammy Awards… things happened and prizes were giving out, but most of all performances occured, some better than others, so if you missed out on them, here's your chances to catch a handful that I thought were pretty good. Lil Wayne - Drop The World ft. Eminem / Drake - Forever ft. Lil Wayne, Eminem & Travis Barker First and foremost, here's the Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake performance with Travis Barker on the drums, performing Drop [...]
The only thing missing was a threesome between Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Beyonce
For anyone who caught the entire three-and-a-half hour escapade that was the 52nd annual Grammy Awards last night, it was filled with upsets, upstarts, shocks, awes and a lot of pretty noteworthy things. For those of you who caught the...
via Nahright It's amazing how much they censored them in comparison to actual curse words that needed to be censored. I really wish Kanye was there though, so we could see Taylor Swift rap to his verse (FTW!).
Lil Wayne and Eminem performed 'Drop The World', then Drake made his Grammy debut and they did 'Forever' with Travis Barker on the drums. This is the uncensored version of the performance, as everybody who watched it live knows that CBS overdid the edits of the song and ruined the performance. Those who watched the Grammys last night know that the evening's closing performance was censored by CBS with the avidity of Tipper Gore attempting to set a 2 Live Crew record on fire. Whoever ... The 52nd Grammys took place last night, bringing us the usual mixture of the bizarre and the odd. The main winners were: Album Of The Year - Taylor Swift, Fearless Best Female Pop Vocal - Beyonce, Halo Best Rap/Sung Collaboration - Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna, Run This Town Best Rock Album - Green Day, 21st Century Breakdown Best Pop Vocal Album -The Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D. Record of the Year - Kings Of Leon, Use Somebody Best New Artist - Zac Brown Band Best Dance Recording - Lady Gaga, [...]
And so we've reached the conclusions of another pointless Grammy Awards. Perhaps it truly is just an awards ceremony for industry elitists and musical heavyweights, but even those individuals couldn't have helped but cringe when Taylor Swift attempted to duet with Stevie Nicks (shortly before taking home Album of the Year), Bon Jovi was given three songs, and Stealth star Jamie Foxx and Mr. Auto-tune, T.I. were handed a microphone. And then, there were the awards themselves... Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" = Song of the Year? The Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. [...]
