Empire of the Sun is an Australian electronic music duo that formed in 2008. [2] The duo is composed of long-time collaborators Luke Steele of alternative rock act The Sleepy Jackson , and Nick Littlemore of electronic dance outfit Pnau . Their award-winning, 2008 debut album Walking on a Dream shot the duo to international success and to date [...]

My 1st attempt at producing a Remix! It came out pretty good considering the fact that I recently learned how to produce. (Keep in mind the track isn't mastered) Empire of the sun - Walking On A Dream (Mr. Sandwichito Remix) by Mr. Sandwichito
13 1/2 points. That's the official line that the Las Vegas oddsmakers are saying that the Patriots will beat the Broncos with an over/under 50. In other words, odds makers are claiming that it's going to be a high scoring contest with the Patriots handing it to the Broncos. It would be a bad idea to put a small wager if you can on the Broncos to win outright. The odds are heavily not in their favor and that's where they like their chances. Their walls are against the wall and after last week's OT winner [...]

This is it. 2011 has come to a halt and making way for a year where the 2012 calendar mysteriously ends. Let's make it a good year and remember the year in Denver music for 2011. It's impossible for me to get out to every show. I do my best to get out to the shows that seem "interesting" to me and more often than not skip acts that I've seen previously. It's always fun to catch bands on the upslope like at Hi-Dive or Bluebird and later find out that they have a summer show already [...]

Not enough to be a remix but the Cosmonauts put some extra touches garnering a post and excuse to get some Empire of The Sun out there. The changes are subtle but there's some obvious reworking near the end.

As another year draws to a close, it's time for Panic Manualers old and new to contemplate what has just happened. For many of us, it's an opportunity to reflect on the music released in 2011. For others, it's an opportunity to reflect on just about everything else . This year was the whirly-windiest yet. While I can't say I saw as much live music as I would have liked, there were certainly some moments worth mentioning. The Panic Manual hosted another successful 90's party at the Boat in Kensington Market, and that was the [...]

I haven't heard anything from PNAU since their Empire of The Sun side project's amazing 2008 release of Walking on a Dream , but it seems that they're back with a new album and new remixes for their " Unite Us " single. With Kris Menace going for the epic, feel-good synth style that was huge in '07-'08 (the good ol' days) and Wookie taking care of things on the Garage front, these interpretations go in completely different directions and, in turn, cover several bases. Since we're on the [...]

Toronto - 2011 was the beginning of the end for me. At Primavera this May, I saw Pulp one of my two favorite bands. Last December, I saw Suede, my other favorite band. In a span of six months, I saw both my favorite bands, after waiting my entire life to see them. It will never be topped. Every show I've seen since has been diminished in some regard because I will always compare it to the apex of my concert going experience, and it will ultimately fail in comparison. Still, this year, like every [...]
I don't know what's in the water down in Australia—aside from some crazy poisonous creatures like this and this and this —but someone needs to bottle it up and share it with the rest of humanity. As far as I can tell, every group to emerge from the land down under arrives with a superhuman ability to turn easy pop beats into hypercharged, gravity-defying megahits. But even this undersells PNAU , the Sydney duo consisting of Empire of the Sun's Nick Littlemore and high school compatriot Peter Mayes. Neo-disco and wrenching emotion [...]

Now that's more like it Cudi ! Here's a snippet of the first single from WZRD's upcoming album. The album still has no name but Cudi did announce that the only guest appearance on the album will be by Empire of The Sun . "Teleport 2 Me" is nothing like the previous, much more obscure stuff that we've been hearing out of WZRD. It should be a successful single and might just be the song that'll make you believe. Download WZRD Teleport 2 Me (Snippet) [...]

Click image to download full album Song: Empire of the Sun - The Thrill (Ft. Wiz Khalifa) "Empire of the Sun - The Thrill (Ft. Wiz Khalifa)" What's so good? Occasionally I have days where I can't find a new song worthy of being featured as Song of the Day. In those cases, I'll revert back to something from way back when. Today, you're lucky that I've chosen Wiz Khalifa's rendition of "The Thrill" by Empire of the Sun. Sure, [...]
PNAU follow Solid Ground with the lush synth-filled Unite Us from forthcoming album Soft Universe. A side project helmed by Nick Littlemore ( Empire of the Sun ) who became the youngest musician to compose for Cirque du Soleil. Littlemore kept busy during Empire's hiatus, writing Whenever with Sir Elton John for the traveling show earlier this year. The single drops on February 5th, and comes jam packed with remixes from Kris Menace, Tommy Trash, Wideboys , Douster and [...]

I reviewed Empire of the Sun for REVERB this past summer as the Aussies headlined the Global Dance Music Festival at Red Rocks. Our friends over at Eikon had the pleasure of recording EOTS's show in Los Angeles last month and the results are brilliant. Their show is unlike any other I've ever witnessed; part Cirque du Soleil and part rock show. Empire of the Sun- Walking on a Dream (Kids at the Bar Remix) [mp3] Empire of the Sun - [...]

Location, Fillmore Theater, Denver Colorado. It is November 11th, 2011 and the clock on my phone just flipped over to 11:11 pm, when the hook of Zombie Nation starts to build pace and volume to the pulsing lights of the Booth. Two minutes in, the crowd of 3700 is getting chills down their spine with [...]

Felix Bloxsom, better known in the EDM scene as Plastic Plates, has been surrounded by music his entire life. Growing up in Australia, his father was a Jazz musician. Felix followed the same path and got hooked into playing drums as a session musician for a fantastic list of acts that includes the likes of Sia, Midnight Juggernauts, and Empire of The Sun. I've been addicted since I first heard his filthy remix of 'Social Studies' by Body Language (who was touring alongside Sia when Felix made the track), which can get even get the rhythmically inept on [...]
