Fabien Dalzin took his first step in the production of melodic techno music. He has produced many electro-house productions - he signed his first EP "Esky" on the Italian label Helios and can be found on other releases as a remixer - and was directed towards a very deep sound with melancholic melodies. His E.P "Plain Jane" got out on Timid [...]

Yesterday morning James Blake took over the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix decks, creating a platform for him to air his own seemingly new material amongst a wide range of all the good stuff. Apparently one of the most eclectic selections in months, you can stream the session directly from the BBC here . Alternatively download the mp3 courtesy of Blake's Facebook page below, for when you're walking your dog. mp3: James Blake - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix [...]

Gauntlet Hair have always had an unusual sound that I wasn't 100% sure about, but this new track proves that my doubts were unfounded. 'Top Bunk' is an upbeat, reverby-drum driven song, with wonderful dream like guitars waving throughout, and husky vocals that bring it back down to earth and keep it from swerving off the planet. Gauntlet Hair are a band to look out for as they release their debut record on Dead Oceans soon. I recently discovered this classical piece from 1888. In [...]

While it's important to move forward with music in order to explore new grounds and create new sound that has never been heard before, it is equally important that we consider the past as well. The internet and home computing have given the capability to anyone who owns a computer to become a legitimate musician- there are hundreds of new releases that come out everyday; while we at Earmilk try to help you sort through it all, staying on top of everything is impossible. As with consumer products, as quantity increases, quality generally decreases. [...]

"It was expected that arbouse Recordings label, party over ten years the discovery through the world of music news, come to look to Erik Satie this precursor. As such, Cyril Caucat (label founder) approached Ornella Volta Chair of Archives Erik Satie (Paris). Since 2000 took place between Paris and Rodez an exchange of letters that eventually leads to disc as a tribute to composer. We were able to spend some time with the Aussie dudes of Miami Horror recently. We chatted about politics, strippers, religion and touring the world. We picked their brains about all things music and the guys put together a nice little mixtape for us. Daniel Whitechurch of Miami Horror provided us with the following songs and reflections on each choice. You can download each MP3 separately or as the ATG Miami Horror Mixtape at the end of the post. MP3: Pink Floyd - "The Great Gig in the Sky" [...]
A reply to those dishonest journalists who twist phrases to make the Idea seem ridiculous; to those women who only think what I have dared to say; to those for whom Lust is still nothing but a sin; to all those who in Lust can only see Vice, just as in Pride they see only [...]
![[Listen/Download] – Brand New Song By MillionYoung – "Local Joke" (Neon Indian cover)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2744612_lg.jpg)
New music from MillionYoung is always a good thing as the dude always fails to disappoint. Actually I am disappointed, but only in the fact that this guy isn't getting more recognition, the kind he deserves. The last time we heard from him he'd reworked Erik Satie's "Gymnopedie No. 13 into a chilled out, ethereal, electronic-fused jam, a world away from the original. This time around he's done the same to Neon Indian's excellent "Local Joke" turning it into a far more Dream-Pop version than the original. Give it a deek below. [...]
If you're unaware of the concept behind Desert Island Discs, check out the basic pitch I gave the artists and bloggers I got in touch with. If you're an artist or blogger and want to take part, just send your submission with the eight pieces of music (not the actual mp3s) and some words about each one to admin (@) listenbeforeyoubuy (dot) net. First up is Teen Daze who doesn't like to give too much away about himself (it's because he's so handsome that he doesn't want people tracking him down just to be next to [...]
![[Listen/Download] – New Song By MillionYoung – "Gymnopedie No. 1″](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2662493_lg.jpg)
If you're unaware, the Gymnopedies are three compositions by Erik Satie, a 19th-20th century French composer. They're by far his most famous works and if you've never heard them before I urge you to seek them out (in this day and age it shouldn't take you much more than three minutes). MillionYoung has just released this excellent "rendition" of "Gymnopedie No. 13 as a free download from his site . It's a sweet 2 and a half minutes of dream-pop and lazy Sunday synths, even though it's still Saturday. Check out my post on MillionYoung from back [...]
