C Flanigan, FilmMagic Etta James is not dead. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was recently the subject of an online hoax that claimed she passed away in her Southern California residence. The hoax took the form of a fake TMZ page (thanks to BluesLand for the picture) that claimed the soul legend died on Wednesday, Aug. 3. "She's fine. I just saw her last night and she was fine," her son, Donto James, told the L.A. Times .
