Eux Autres - You're Alight mp3Ooz-Oh-Tra. There, I've said it. . .well, sort of said it, so to say. We've been enjoying "them others" for a couple of years now and were happy to wrap ears around the San Franciscans' newly released single today, compliments of Mr. Patrick Tape Fleming of Vitriol Records (and The Poison Control Center). The siblings Larimer (Heather and Nicholas) put out several

Photos by: Nic Buron SF Popfest 2010 kicked off with a split bill of sorts at The Rickshaw Stop . NYC's Knight School and Eux Autres , from SF, offered variations on bare bones guitar pop, while locals Social Studies and headliner Tune-Yards took the second half of the evening in a more refined direction. Knight School reproduced their lo-fi singles with power, courtesy of Jedidiah Smith's deft skills at [...]

Salut mes copains, I'm back from Nice with a few souvenirs (more on those in a later post). I spent my birthday there, and, thanks to Verity, I am now the very happy owner of the following: The Salut Les Copains 3 DVD box-set - over 8 hours of live television footage of 60's French Pop, and some ace extras too - OUI! OUI! OUI! We've watched [...]

Let me tell you a story. In 2007 some notable things happened. I attended the annual music festival SXSW (the image above is of myself and The Lovely Sparrows' Shawn Jones, taken by Abandoned Love Records/Virgin Of The Birds' Jon Rooney), I grew a mustache, and I met a beautiful girl named Andi. She was waiting for her uncle (Eno of Spoon) at the Capitol Hill Block Party. We hit it off and ditched the after-party to get a sprite (her) and coffee (me) at Denny's in Ballard (sadly no longer there) at 1:30am. I [...]

Citay - "Careful With That Hat" (from Dream Get Together ) Hot on the heels of Remixes comes the first offering from Citay 's third album Dream Get Together . According to Dead Oceans : Coming January 26th (January 25th in the UK), Dream Get Together channels everything we love about Citay into their most cohesive and sophisticated album yet. The symphonic dueling lead guitars, soaring vocals, grandiose acoustic explorations and audacious synth solos are all [...]

Queen Turner by Eux Autres San Francisco's Eux Autres have released their newest indie pop package, Strangled Days . The four-song EP, recorded by Jason Quever ( Papercuts ), is available as a 103 UK import and digitally, and is (mostly) streamable above. More about the release can be found on the band's web site . The band was started by brother/sister duo Nicholas and Heather Larimer. Last year, Yoshi Nakamoto (Aislers Set, Still Flyin') joined [...]

Longtime FensePost favorites, Eux Autres release their new EP today. Strangled Days finds the brother/sister pop duo straying slightly from their French roots, but it's still the same great pop we always loved from these guys. Heather and Nicholas Larimer have since expanded to a trio, having added Yoshi Nakamoto (Aislers Set & Still Flyin') on drums in 2008. Strangled Days was recorded by Jason Quever (Papercuts) and can be found as a 103 EP on Where It's At Is Where You Are Records . [...]
![Eux Autres: Cold City [Album Review]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1823255_lg.jpg)
Cold City finds the Larimer siblings that make up Eux Autres maturing as musicians and songwriters. Where Hell Is Eux Autres included many viable tracks, the recordings were stiff. Still, despite the slightly lower production value, many of those older songs remain true favorites; and Cold City packs in several new favorites as well. Included in this mix are “Molly” and “When I’m Up”. The first has catchy hooks in the chorus and includes a heavy reverb in vocals. The latter sees [...]

Well today is the last day of the San Francisco Popfest and probably the best day to attend one of the shows. After all today is Dear Nora, Eux Autres, ChEAP RED, Birds of California, and the ever so wonderful Botticellis at Café du Nord. This is a great opportunity to witness the best in local music and up and coming bands that you'll be listening to later on because your friends told you to or Pitchfork gave them a 8.1 and you figured, "Hey! They're good but certainly not the most [...]

The 'fest runs though Sunday, May 24, 2009 and Keenan, amazing imaginary photographer Steve Louie and I will be running around the greater San Francisco area basking in all that fine fine indie-pop. We're looking forward to most all the bands (ballboy ballboy ballboy), but we put together a podcast of some of the lesser known ones and ones with hit songs we've been listening to on repeat (ahem: Stay Flyin'). You should go [...]

Since coming across the Radio Dept. a few years ago, I have made it my mission to convert every person I come across into a fan. Naturally, it doesn't take much convincing and everyone from my father to my best friends have fallen in love. The Labrador Records darlings make the trip from Sweden far too infrequently, and as a result, the Bell House show quickly sold out. The Radio Dept.'s set played like a best of list, hitting each of the fan favorites which is particularly fulfilling because of the aforesaid rare US [...]

Frank Yang I've been to a LOT of shows in the past decade or so, and as such my list of bands whom I'm still waiting to see live is pretty short by this point - and last week, it got one big name shorter when I got to see reclusive Swedes The Radio Dept not once but twice in New York thanks to their headliner status at NYC Popfest . The venue for the big show was the Bell House in Brooklyn, a good-sized venue with a vibey bar/lounge up front and a [...]

The sleeve looks good enough to eat. Eux Autres are back with a new single, out June 2nd on Bons Mots Records ! "You're Alright" b/w "A Band Undone" is the bands first release featuring new members Yoshi Nakamoto (Aislers Set, Still Flyin') and multi-instrumentalist Nevada Jones (not to be confused with multi-adventurist Indiana Jones) and it's sure to be a winner. The rad artwork and design are courtesy of San Francisco's Yellow Owl Workshop and might I say, they really outdid themselves! That orange paper looks a lot like [...]
