Actually I'm not really sure who rakes leaves anymore. Any leaves that fall on our yard just end up getting mowed. But my sentiment is about the beginning of fall! Of course, fall technically started a couple weeks ago, it really started only a couple of days ago around here, with the cold breezes. This should keep you warm like a nice cardigan! Eve 6 join Fearless, working on new album One of my favourite bands growing up, Eve 6 recently signed to Fearless Records and will be recording their long-awaited fourth studio album with star producer Don Gilmore. On the joining Fearless Recs, the band notes: "This will be a great home for us. They're super pumped about this record and the new songs and are just as anxious to get it recorded and released as we are." this song is STILL in my ipod today. good times.

Their platinum-selling self-titled album brought the band to stardom, and a vibrant career was born. If only this masterpiece was recorded 20 years sooner, Spacehog might be mentioned in the same sentence as Marc Bolan and Mott The Hoople instead of being mentioned in the same sentence as Deep Blue Something and Eve 6. Even worse are the comparisons Spacehog must endure to acts such as The Darkness, who's similarities to the England-via-Brooklyn rockers starts and ends at the misleading shorthand that lazy pundits use to describe each band's perceived songwriting style. Even though one band predated the other by so many years that they are not even contemporaries, it's [...]

Well, happy birthday, Janelle Monae ...] Top 2 curiosities of the evening: ► Eve 6 [pictured], the rock trio that in the new year plans to release its first album since 2003, plays its first L.A. show in two years at the Troubadour. ► The outrageous young rap crew Odd Future — who are blowing up — bring their game to the Echo. Artist: Eve 6 Album: Eve 6 Release Date: April 28, 1998 To this day I remain an unapologetic fan of Eve 6. You know that saying that the best answers in life are usually the simplest? That's Eve 6's music to me. There's nothing overtly special about it, other than some deliciously goofy lyrics that generally don't make sense (have you ever stopped to listen to "Inside Out"? Yeah.) But the hooks are all in place, and they stick out and latch on tight to make some [...]

Kansas City's Power and Light has a weekly free concert rock series and considering the clientele, the 90s bands like Eve 6 have been the groups to bring in the largest crowds. So when I saw local act the Republic Tigers would be playing, I wasn't quite sure what draw they would have, even as one of the most popular local bands in the city. I shouldn't have doubted their pull because the boys ended up drawing a sizable crowd even without the support of an opener. [...]
"I quit lookin' at the clock. It'll only bring me down and it won't bring you here. If I pulled out all the stops and a little less of my hair, could I bring you here?" - Eve 6, "Without You Here" Dear Eve 6, Guys. Pals. Slutty gentleman of the pop-punk world. You know why I'm doing this and you know that it's necessary. You've finally finished your too-long hiatus as a band and are now beginning to play some gigs together again. But I noticed that you aren't going to be playing [...]
Audio: Eve 6 "Rescue" live A recently recorded live version of Eve 6 's " Rescue ", from their second album " Horrorscope " can be streamed on myspace .

One of the first albums I remember loving from end to end. Not a bad track on this album. Before we get into the music, let's pause and reflect on how kickass that album cover is. So cool looking, and part of the reason why I bought the album when it came out in the first place. The other reason being the music. I was lured into this album when I saw the video for "Here's to the Night". I picked up the album on the strength of that one song (it [...]

A few days ago I found a post about a '65 single - Indian Giver - by Chuck Bernard, it wasn't the same song as the one I knew by the 1910 Fruitgum Co, so I looked in my burgeoning music library, to find I'd grabbed another tune with (almost) the same title from Siblingshot last year. Who knew? three different songs with nearly the same title... it must be a sign eh; but being a bit umm obsessive, and having unlimited time & energy for the unimportant, I found a few more; thirteen actually. With [...]
DreamHost, my domain provider, noticed I was averaging over 60 gigabytes of mp3 transfers a day. For you non-techies, let's just say that's a tremendous amount. So, DreamHost disabled my sound files - can't say that I blame them. The problem was online music providers that found my sound index page and leeched my bandwidth. So, no more index page, you'll have to download the music right here, which is the way it should be. The next few days, I'll be reuploading and editing my older entries, so please be patient. I couldn't possibly upload 500-odd songs, so I'll be [...]
Earlier today Dave at The Rawking Refuses to Stop posted his top 10 best break-up albums . My answer back? This song. Eve 6 - Anytime When Eve 6 broke up in 2004 I was devastated; "Inside Out" was possibly my favorite song of all time until I was 13 or 14. I didn't include Eve 6 in the "Celebrating 19 years of bad music" post because I never stopped loving Eve 6. Never. "Anytime" is THE perfect break-up song because Max Collins, Eve 6's lead singer, doesn't deal [...]
