I got my first apartment in 2004 in Old Louisville. I had lived in the East End for a year when I first moved to town, but moving downtown really felt like my first big city experience. I grew up in a very small town in central Michigan so everything in Louisville seemed exciting, especially the music. I found myself a few times crammed into the Old Louisville Coffeehouse or Crescent Hill Baptist watching a number of bands like the great Poison Control Center or Harry and the Potters playing with who I thought was the greatest band I had [...]

This past April, MOKB and The Laundromatinee teamed up with our great friends at LUNA Music to film as much of the happenings on RSD 2009 as we could. We photographed it all , but we just now pieced together all the footage. A great big thanks to all involved. It was a really fun day. " [Going to the record store] is like going to Grandma's house, it's awesome ." - MOKB friend, Adam G. [...]
Opening acts don't steal the show often, but that's what a scruffy group of gentlemen by the name of Everything, Now! did this past Sunday at Bar in New Haven. They had an unbelievable energy. It was the kind of aura that only a passionate group of musicians with a couple shoeless feet could emit. The band is from Indianapolis, and they've got the the bombastic theatrics of Bowie, but they're able to pull it off with a humble country rock sound. Introduce yourself to Everything, Now! at myspace.com/everythingnow . [...]

Everything, Now! is one of the hardest working, most prolific indie rock bands Indianapolis has to offer. In 2007 the band self-released two quality, under-the-radar long-players in Ugly Magic and Bible Universe . They returned this year to release Spacially Severed . With their own slew of cameras, they dropped by The Laundromatinee to record with us. Everything, Now! - Burden Time/The Shelter [...]
Everything, Now! is one of the hardest working, most prolific indie rock bands in Indianapolis. After two quality releases in 2007, the band returned in 2008 with another album entitled "Spacially Severed."

I like finding music that's new to me, or just finding new things in general. It's a marvellous feeling when you hear a fine song, or see a really good film, for the first time; yet afterwards, that exact experience can never be recaptured. Much as I relish revisiting well loved tunes & movies, sometimes it'd be grand to discover them afresh. Indeed, I often feel a tinge of envy when introducing something wonderful to a friend (assuming they like it too, of course). A desire for novelty I suppose, although musically, I've gone for long periods [...]

What if a bunch of goofy stoners put together a band, wrote wacky and spastic (but surprisingly good) songs about life and religion, and had a vocalist who sounds like Neil Young ? That would be The Flaming Lips , correct, but Everything, Now! also checks off all of the above without sounding anything like Wayne Coyne 's crazy crewpaloop (the Willy Wonka version of "possy"…copyright, by the way). Apparently there's room for two bands to hold up the wacky-philosophical-drugged-ou t-Neil Young banner. The difference between the bands, however, is that [...]
Not much to say about this week's edition of our Friday Mixtape other than it's really, really good. I mean, sure we say that every week, but this time, we really mean it. After all, included in the 35+ tracks below, you'll find a mix of the week's best new singles, covers, and remixes along with mp3s from a few up-and-comers you might just want to check out. Add in the fact, we got the some extra special treats this week (David Byrne covers, Little Boots remixes) and everything is 100% free and legal, and well, life couldn't get much [...]

(photo by MOKB staff photographer _dde ) Tight spaces suit Everything, Now! well, especially when their audience is bunch of [somewhat] genial drinkers and the venue is a small house whose owner/renter isn't afraid of a little dirt on the carpet. Want to see more ? Their latest full-length effort, Spatially Severed , was released last month. Everything, Now! - Shelter ------------------------------ -------------------------- MySpace | [...]
Please forgive us (oh, such self-delusional comfort in the plural) if we don't fiddle with thematic groupings and such in this post. Just call it a loose concatenation of songs we're enjoying and hoping you will, too. Setting Sun - They're Calling mp3 - from the Hudson Valley/Catskills cats' EP, Children of the Remix - Thanks to Fanatic.Built By Snow - Everything in 3D mp3 - from the Austin

Here's your daily free digital sampler download link fix. Unlike the previous posts this week, this one is from a band rather than a label. Everything, Now! released their latest album Spatially Severed back in mid-November, on the 11th to be exact, on MFT Records . Three tracks from that album are now included in a free digital EP sampler that the group has made available for download on their site at www.everythingnowmusic.com . In addition to the tracks from Spatially Severed are three unreleased tracks and [...]

The renowned "Space Gospel" group Everything, Now! has release a free digital EP on their website . Prequels And Parallels as it is called contains three stellar tracks from the bands just-released album Spatially Severed , as well as essential tracks from their two previous efforts ( Bible Universe and Ugly Magic ) and three unreleased bonus tracks. Totaling 8 songs in 25 minutes, this is a hefty dose of insane psych-pop melodies disguised as commercialized space-age pop gems for the ADD generation. Certainly worth a download. The band [...]

The flyer says it all. Ultra Pulverize puts on an incredible show & if you haven't experienced it yet, it's time that you have. I caught them with Wax Fang earlier this year & while I knew I was in for something of a treat, I had no idea how many levels that would be true [...]

The musicians coming out of Muncie, Indiana are some of the most creative and daring around these parts. There is a collective vibe, a support system. They all go to each other's shows and support one another. They aren't scared to try new things - to not play it safe, and Everything, Now! leads that pack with an unabashed passion and fearlessness. Ugly Magic is the second of a pair of concept albums that the band has released this year on the [...]
