As much as I love Sleater-Kinney I still have to say Excuse 17 was the best of Carrie's bands. I got to see them a couple of times after their second LP came out and they totally rocked it. Even though they played to smaller crowds than S-K, Excuse 17 definitely had more energy live. This song was recorded on the same tour that I saw them at Gilman Street in Berkeley, CA back in 1995.
