A founding member of Small Faces with Kenny Jones and Steve Marriott in 1965 (Ian McLagan joined later), Lane played bass for one of the most under-rated Brit bands of the '60s. Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood came on board in 1969 and the renamed Faces achieved commercial success.
