Maria Apetri, de nombre artístico Fallulah , es bien conocida en su Dinamarca natal, país en el que ha ganado importantes premios y ha sido nominada a otros tantos. Sin embargo, le faltaba dar el salto al resto de Europa y Estados Unidos, algo que intenta ahora con "Out Of It", tema que ya fue todo un éxito en su tierra, y en el que demuestra su potencial para fabricar potenciales "hits" pop.

Opening with an echoing kick drum, frantic handclaps and sultry vocals, Fallulah 's "Out Of It" at first sounds like the latest modern-day attempt at reviving classic soul. When the hook hits, however, the number erupts into some raucous party-pop as the Danish songstress shouts "Always crazy!" Gears keep shifting between old and new, paring down to mere drums and pitch-perfect vibrato only to ramp back up to full-blown crazy yet again. The song evokes both dark smoky dance clubs and huge strobe-lit stages, and for these three minutes and forty-one seconds this seemingly odd pairing makes perfect sense. [...]
Fallulah might be a new name for you unless you're tuned into the what's happening in Denmark, but she's aiming further with her first US single, "Out Of It." Recalling the likes of Little Boots but with a little more instrumental vigour, the track is the kind of thing you'd like to hear on chart radio but don't. And with an irresistible breathless vocal like hers and a pulse that pretty much never lets up for three and half minutes, that'a dratted shame. Have a listen below.

Denmark's hidden avant-gem Fallulah has had Kick Kick Snare under her spell for so long now we can't remember what it felt like to have control over our own ears. And it is quite clear she has no intention of setting us free any time soon. Her latest single 'Superfishyality' is spot on perfect. Darkly alluring, yet playful and bitingly witty. Imagine, if you will, that Lana Del Rey took her self even an ounce less seriously or a popped less quaaludes and had a mounds more soul. Monsieur Adi is one of those producers that we just can never seem to get enough of, and this year so far has been all too quiet on his front for our liking. But now out of nowhere he's put up a new track entitled Youth that sure hits that sweet spot.
