One of my favorite EP's of the year comes by way of Long Island's Family Lumber and is titled Look To The Sidelines . With good pacing and tangible sensibility throughout I'm sure some others will the same. For more specifity take in "No Worries" or the entire EP here . facebook

After releasing a handful of EPs one full-length album in the past few years, Family Lumber returns with their latest shortplayer. Michael Tiejen's vocals and guitar playing give this album a catchy and diverse sound. The four songs move through some unique styles but always have the deft guitarwork driving them. It sounds as if Built to Spill released a batch of short, Nada Surf-like pop songs.
Have you ever heard anything like Family Lumber before? Yes. Does that mean it's not worth checking them out?
