It's our inaugural Eat Your Own Ears show of 2012, and it left us stupefied; asinine beam indelibly etched from ear to ear; genuinely thankful an irrepressible festive greed never resulted in the gnawing of aural receptors... Sometimes when I was young and really dreaded something happening the next day, I'd just stay up and stay awake. If I stayed awake, I didn't go to sleep, and if I didn't go to sleep then tomorrow couldn't come. A similarly dreamy wisdom and wonder underpins the spacious, soulful sounds of Famy , three Brits and one Italian originally from Southern France but now based in London. Blog-favourites FAMY today announced the release of their debut 123, out December 5th, on Fifi. "Dogg Dogg" is the adorable and heartfelt b-side, that builds into a crescendo of emotion, a track that somehow sounds simultaneously fragile and overbearingly loud. There's a beauty to it missing from a lot of their contemporaries, a quality that earmarks them out for the future. Check out the other track "Mother Benita", here . FAMY , formerly known as FAMILY, are three English boys and one Italian boy who grew up in the South of France. The last couple of months they have been putting early sketches of their tunes on their Bandcamp (unfortunately those disappeared), yet now this four-piece is set to release their debut single Dogg Dogg on December 5 via Fifi, backed with a b-side titled Mother Benita . Lovely, heartfelt outfit FAMY (A slight change from their original FAMILY moniker), have just recently released another three tracks to their bandcamp, in a predictably titled fourth set, Family IV. After seeing them support WU LYF at Village Underground a few months back, I was vindicated in my appraisal of them, and these three tracks, "Donkey", "Hebrew" and "Cap Ferrat" only go to further that in my eyes.
