Benny Rodrigues first hit my radar awhile ago when I was in search of acid house that hypnotises and draws you into a dark repetitive hole. Rodrigues has released a few tracks all over the place (check his discogs page), his sound is one of quality drawing on influences from Armando , 808 State , Fast Eddie and Phuture to name a few of the 802s and 902s biggest acid house players. His 'I Like Acid' release is very much like the early years of acid house with [...]

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, I have loads of music for you all, but have been having problems uploading audio to WordPress, so haven't been able to post as often as I'd like. Anyway. 90s house. It's a timeless formula, and classics like these still getting played in big sets today is testament to that. These track span 1992 to 2005, so it's not strictly all 90s house, but how much the house of that time influenced dance music afterwards means we can extend the 90s for a good few years when it comes to house. Enjoy. [...]

Friday's a fine day with Acid Thunder in your ear to play. Acid Thunder was produced by Fast Eddie in the late 80s. During the birth of Chicago house and acid (1986-1988), Fast Eddie was spinning house music and was considered a premier DJ. He then ventured into producing and created the smash hit, Acid Thunder . Fast Eddie's popularity skyrocketed, however, with his production of Hip House , which glorified rapping over house music. After all of Fast Eddie's success producing and dj-ing house music, he chose [...]
Hip House Documentary featuring Fast Eddie, Tyree Cooper and Rocky Jones of DJ International Records in The Underground Studios.

The Future Boogie blurb says it all and we definitely agree - music for giants! 'A cheeky little mix up from our boy Yam Who , who's ISM label has been getting props from James Murphy, Maurice Fulton, Horse Meat Disco, and Steve Kotey. Massive.' Future Boogie mix - Yam Who * Yam Who? – Go [...]

Can U Dance!!! It'd be hard not to bounce to this Chi-town classic jack beat by Kenny 'Jammin' Jason & 'Fast' Eddie Smith. The Tyree Cooper '89 Acid mix and Fast Eddie reprise have been getting me really pumped causing involuntary body locking and arm popping. Little dangerous though, especially when brushing your teeth. Trust me, just be careful Kenny 'Jammin' Jason & 'Fast' Eddie Smith - Can U Dance 'Fast' Eddie Smith - Can [...]

DJ Attitude - The Acid '88 mix 1 - The Todd Terry Project - Back To The Beat (Westside Records) 2 - Hardhouse - Check This Out (Easy Street Records) 3 - Baby Ford - Chikki Chikki Ahh Ahh (Rhythm King Records) 4 - Mike Dunn - Magic Feet (Original 12″ Version) (Westbrook Records) [...]

Contrary to popular belief, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's 1991 hit Good Vibrations was not the first hip house track. Fast Eddie invented it; Tyree laid claim to the first hip house track on wax with the 1989 release of Turn Up The Bass , but UK's the Beatmasters say they preceded him by three years. As seen in this documentary , there are fine lines between hip house, rap house, house rap and you name it. The genre grew a lot in the 90's and saw a lot of success on the [...]

Some of the best dancing and wobble I've ever seen. This is so good. If you like it, grab it from beatport . DEEKLINE joined forces with ex-Coburn DJ/Producer TIM HEALEY to launch GIANT PUSSY RECORDS a fusion of ghetto-house, electro, breaks & dubstep. To celebrate the union and the first release on the label here's a mix mix with loads of tasty exclusives from big names cutup within [...]
A revival of a hip-house track by Tim Healey and Deekline has just surfaced in our mailbox. Fast Eddie was a big force in the house and subsequent hip-house in the late 80s in Chicago and Deekline and Healey who partnered together to form Giant Pussy Records thought it would be a great track to release for their new label. Yo Yo Get Funky is out now on Beatport .

They Call It Acid is the true story of Acid House culture aka Rave culture. What began as a small dance event in England in the late 1980s quickly blossomed into a global youth phenomena that is present today in almost every country around the globe. From the film synopsis:: THEY CALL IT ACID is a feature length documentary which plots the emergence of this culture from its musical roots in Chicago and Detroit, to the melting pots of Ibiza, London and North England where these elements were brought [...]

"This is the first installment in a bunch of remixes for this track we'll be promoing leading up to release. The original for this graced Krafty Kut's Fabric Live CD, and was subsequently caned around the world by some of the biggest breaks DJs. But it never got a release. So we polished it up, remixed it, and got legendary old school hip house rapper Fast Eddie onto the case, who took it to the next level then we got Future Flash and his mate Dirty Disco Youth to remix it. Here it's electro-bassline action, and it works [...]
