Today is the holiest day of the year for the USA- Black Friday- the day where the orgy of capitalist consumption is consummated in a desperate attempt to lure the masses to BUY, BUY, BUY. Stores opened at midnite to hook the suckers into buying crap they dont need. I saw one moron has been camping with her tots since last week to be first on line to by a TV. If you have to live outside and involve your kids in this nonsense... perhaps you have other issues to address that are more [...]
After having worked years in the music industry, Fastball's Miles Zuniga finally gets around to recording a solo album, and reflects on himself, the way the business is changing, and much more in this revealing interview ... Perhaps the last time you saw Miles Zuniga, he was flanked by retro backup dancers, popping off a fiery flamenco guitar solo and then jumping off a building in the video for Fastball's smash hit "The Way". In the 13 years since that song debuted, Miles has kept his guitar plugged in, continuing to write and record with Fastball while sharing time [...]
Being billed as the UK's answer to Kings of Leon immediately lumps a rather large weight on the shoulders of London trio Them Changes. But nevertheless, that seems to be the word about town. Not bad for an act that started its life as Michael Kiwanuka's backing band. They eventually decided to form their own [...]
Let's just pretend that I wrote a clever intro and move directly to the matter at hand, shall we? So. Despite the order of the band in my headline I am actually going to start with this video Gary Suarez sent us, for "Call to the Warrior" by the band Affiance. Why? Because it's actually [...]
Actors shouldn't decline. At least not until they reach somewhere around Kirk Douglas age. Not until they lose brain function and the ability to control their bodies. The craft of acting seems like something you should be able to perform ... Continue reading
It's been far too long since I've posted a mixtape. I don't know why I stopped posting mixtapes, but I do know that this seems to have coincided with my lack of mixtape making in 'the real world', a.k.a. life outside the internet. If I were to guess, it's because I'm way too OCD about them, and obsess over tracklists for so long that I never actually end up giving them to the intended parties. But I decided today that, come hell or high water, I was getting back on the horse! I've made summer mixtapes in the [...]

Fastball brak in 1998 door met hun tweede album All The Pain Money Can Buy.
“We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken.” Fyodor Dostoevsky Fastball: love is expensive and free
Yes, THAT Fastball. May1-3.

[Jane's Addiction's Eric Avery blows out birthday candles on Saturday; cheers to him as we rock into the weekend ...] Tonight: Seems to be lighter than your average Friday, but in addition to the I Am Treasure benefit at the Roxy (featuring Pigeon John and Rootbeer ), you have some other options. She Wants Revenge , paired with War Tapes , plays downtown's Club 740 . ... Rocket shows off its new lineup and new songs at the Spaceland. ... Old-schoolers can catch Queensryche [...]

Outside of the chaos of 6th Street at a little cafe that had just opened, Bethany and Joshua met up with two Austin legends. The first was a delicious breakfast taco, which I highly recommend everybody finds a chance to eat at some point in their life. The second legend was Fastball singer Miles Zuniga . We talked to the him about the industry, what they have been up to for the last five years and their new album, Little White Lies . Bethany, PopWreckoning: You guys have had kind of [...]
Remember Fastball? Yeah, the band made infamous by "The Way" and who managed to squeeze out one more hit ("Out Of My Head") before they kind of faded out of the limelight. Well, guess what! They still exist! In fact, a friend of mine hung out with them at SXSW and mentioned to me that they were coming out with a new album on April 14th, so I knew I had to get my hands on it. The album is called
The big surprise this week is that Fastball is still a band. I remember jamming out to "The Way" when I was fourteen and didn't know any better. Also, that Pomegranates album we let you preview a while back is out and, from what I remember, it is pretty dang good. A few of these releases are just in time for Coachella, but we'll talk more about that later. :: Agoraphobic Nosebleed , Agorapocalypse (Relapse) :: Amen Dunes , Dia (Locust) [...]

Fastball!!! WTF??!! Where have these guys been all of these years? Who remembers the year 1998?... I was in High School, and Fastball held the number 1 spot on the U.S. Modern Rock chart with the song "My Way", they were nominated for two Grammy's for their platinum selling album All the Pain Money Can [...]

Always Never y All I Was Looking For Was You [...]
Just because we're down in Austin, doesn't mean we'd forget about you - or your weekly mp3 fix. Below, we've compiled a special SXSW mixtape, chock full of goodies we think are pretty damn, well, neat. Of course, it wouldn't be a CoS influenced mixtape if it didn't have our personal favorites *ahem* who happen to play in our showcase *ahem*. That's not to say there aren't a few other artists outside our proverbial reach/influence, so take what you will. Also, we threw in a baker's dozen (and more!) of new singles, remixes, etc. Oh how we spoil [...]
KUT Secret Showcase with FASTBALL from Texas Music Matters at KUT . Fastball: website | myspace | Secret Showcase review Related Posts March 17, 2009 - Fastball @ KUT 90.5 for SXSW, Austin TX (2)

It doesn't get much more underground than the way PopWreckoning kicked o ff its coverage of South by Southwest 2009. Tucked away in the basement of The University of Texas KUT 90.5 communication department, 90's radio contenders Fastball threw together a bit of a casual setlist for fans and select media. Opening strong with two numbers displaying the band's versatility, the band began the evening with "Running Away", a straight forward guitar number, before switching to "Always Never", a piano number highlighting Fastball's inability to be put into any box. However, remembering not to [...]
