December already!? Ah hell, I guess we should be writing some kind of 'End Of The Year Review' or our 'Albums of 20112, or a bunch of New Years resolutions that we ain't ever gonna keep. But that's all a bit boring. So here's a new tune buzzing round the O!IW stereo at the moment from 21 year old Texan Daniel Hunter, better known as Analogue Rebellion . Analogue Rebellion Yep, this track's called "Father Abraham", it's a fine tune and we can only hope [...]

Despite his distorted press pic, the elusive Father Abraham is not a pedophile priest in exile. Rather he's the Harvard hockey player turned producer-MC who once skated with the live hip-hop outfit The Indefinite Article, which had a hot Boston run back when House of Blues was Avalon and heroin was Oxycontin. For the past two years, Abraham sequestered himself at the New Alliance studios in Cambridge, where he cracks tongue-in-cheek raps and concocts the sort of boom bap synth porn that grandma warned you about. Now that he's moving [...]

Here's your North Shore summer anthem from the mighty Father Abraham ( lots of dope free downloads at the above link ) Inspired by Boston's Reality-Sitcom Quiet Desperation ( more on Quiet D HERE ) [See post to listen to audio] LISTEN : Father Abraham featuring Big Nezz - Revere Beach

Nobody has a clue about what the hip-hop (or music) landscape will look like in even just a few years. But I'm pretty certain about one thing: all artists beside Doom and Edan will have to drop cuts almost daily to keep the attention of fans. Quite a few MCs have successfully attempted to release on accelerated schedules. Though I would argue that his entire catalog couldn't compare to a single Paul Barman cut, Lil Wayne especially blew up on the heels of his releasing 700 tracks in one year. [...]
![Father Abraham [Feature Artist]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2037198_lg.jpg)
Boston native Father Abraham is a hip hop artist baked from a different mold. His thought-inspiring words bring forth the power of joy, but do not distort the reality in which he lives. It is quite a social distortion to hear such a funky fresh and uplifting beats that is fronted by lines like We all go to hell in a fast car . It's fun, it's sad, it's the purity of endangered lives. Through his own personal battles, this MC exploits all sense of being. [...]

Part Two of the Father Abraham " Listen To This " and a chance to redeem myself with two musical selections following his underwhelming response to the magnificence of Afrobear. I would protest that PolarBear wasnt really moaning about the hardships of making music, but more the humour of getting recognised while still struggling. Elsewhere Abraham's selections had me imagining I could cut it on the dancefloor in tight white pants, while his second choice reminded me of my utter failure with girls in my teens (a sentence with three more words than necessary if ever there [...]

" Listen To This " is back after a well earned nap with another special guest contributor revelling in the role of showing me the MP3 blogger up as a musically illiterate half-wit. 2009 has been a year of mixed fortunes for Father Abraham. On the one hand he's recently joined the ranks of the non-bailed out unemployed so he's rapping about his Ford Taurus one week and having to sell it the next. So far so fed up, but on the plus side he's in the creative form of his life. [...]

MP3: Father Abraham - HIAFC I'm always on the look out for fresh hip hop, so it was a delight to check out the sounds of Boston based producer and rapper, Father Abraham . This particular tune is taken from his latest LP " I Am Not A Sailor I Am The Captain " which is out now. What i'm feeling with his [...]

One of our favourite Hip-hop albums of late is one that appears to have snuck under all the major radars yet has blasted our radar to bits with some kind of advanced sonic boom blaster. Father Abraham from Boston takes on full creative duties on I Am Not The Sailor I Am The Captain and manages to marry his passionate delivery perfectly to the neck snapping yet head twisting production. It's off-key without getting lost or seeming contrived, regains the hunger of one of Hip-hop's golden ages without [...]

It was all good just a year ago... In a few weeks (September 15), it will have been a year since Lehman Bros . declared bankruptcy, sending fuck-waves (new word, like?) through the country and the world that led us to where we are now: Obama as President, the government as the biggest stockholder in several major banks and car companies, and me left with newfound optimism that maybe a career as a broke hip-hop blogger is better than being one of those guys staring at dual monitors while your boss rapes you with a [...]

Father Abraham , an underground rapper and producer from Boston, has undertaken the ambitious project of creating a track a week for a year, the sort of thing you wish all bands would do but few have the work ethic to actually pull off. To make the deal even better, Abraham blogs the song writing process, things he's found about the internet, and pretty much anything else that strikes his fancy. These turn into hilarious stream of conciousness recounts of being ground level for the energy drink wars , dealing with Methadone addicts in line at [...]

Father Abraham isn't a local member of the clergy, but a producer and rapper from Boston, Massachusetts. The good Father released his album entitled I Am Not a Sailor I Am the Captain a while back. As the story goes he was able to dedicate time to recording the album after he quit his job in January of 2008. From that point on he worked on the record from 12am-8am in a converted mill in Chelmsford, MA. Now with the economy being what it is Father Abraham still has some time on his [...]

Just got this one in the inbox today. It's from Boston-based Father Abraham . This MC has a very nice delivery and excellent beats. Had my head nodding the entire time. Check out the link here , for a project that he's working on where he releases a new track every week. Can't fuck with dude's dedication to his craft. Father Abraham - HIAFC (ZS) Father Abraham - Spacemarch (ZS)

free market america, fuck yeah Father Abraham - All My Friends Are CFOs (ft. Grant Damon & The Young Dads) I don't even know where to start with Father Abraham. The dude is in the middle of a year long project to produce a track every week. "All My Friends" is from week 23 and it is fresh as hell with a rocking beat and the best rapping about the meltdown I've heard. Easily album worthy material. Oh, did I say album? Yeah, Father Abraham has 3 of those too. [...]

Father Knows Best was a classic American radio/TV show from the 40's and 50's, but being a father (x2) now myself, I'm thinking that such a slogan would only be applied to myself in an ironic manner (call Alanis). I mean, if you're talking about things like "Father Knows Whose Flat-Top Rules in '89", or "Father Knows Who Led the 1990 Saints in Catches", then yes, I know best (Kane & Eric Martin respectfully). As for Boston producer/MC Father Abraham, he certainly knows the best place to get a crap-ton of free indie hip hop: from [...]

I just checked my mail for the first time in a week to find a healthy stack of CDs awaiting a listen. First up is Father Abraham who has been hitting me up via email and was really sweet to send over one of his 319 copies of I Am Not A Sailor I Am The Captain . Taking a cup of tap water, Father Abraham hits it up with some Tang powder and mixes his ingredients until they're so well blended you'd think it was orange juice the entire time. With unrecognizable and cleverly placed samples [...]
