The concept behind the video for Feist 's "Bittersweet Melodies" is pretty interesting. Utilizing Argentinian photographer Irina Werning's photos from her Back to the Future series, old photographs of the subjects are placed next to photographs of the subjects in identical poses as adults. Some of them are quite funny as in some of the baby versions, you simply can't tell what sex the child is until you look at the photograph right beside it. It makes for a good game of "Guess Their Sex." In related news, the artwork for Feist and Mastodon [...]

"Bittersweet Melodies," the latest video from Feist's album Metals, features the work of Argentinian photographer Irina Werner, who creates new images by juxtaposing people in the present with images from their past. "I love old photos, but I love even more to recreate them," says Werner. "When I fall in love with a picture I don't stop until I have them in front of me dressed like this doing that thing they were doing. I'm always amazed that they do it." My favorite track from the critically acclaimed 'Metals' Lp now has [...]
Female Vocalist, Singer-Songwriter, Indie - Neither Feist or any many moving images appear in the Hollie Singer directed music video for "Bittersweet Memories." The video is built from a montage of Argentina photographer Irina Werner's "Back To The Future" series, where aged subjects recreate old pictures of themselves. The video is NSFW due to some [...]
There are precious few moving images in Feist's new video for the Metals song "Bittersweet Memories," and Feist isn't in it at all. Instead, director Hollie Singer builds the video out of a montage of Argentian photographer Irina Werner 's "Back To The Future" series, which juxtaposes old and new images, with the aged subjects posed the same way as their younger selves. The whole thing is weirdly sweet, for reasons that are hard to place. NSFW for some boobage. Watch it below. Read More...

It's got to be good to be Glen Hansard these days. Over the last five-plus years, the Irish singer-songwriter starred in the critically acclaimed movie Once, won an Oscar for Best Original Song, toured relentlessly with The Swell Season, while concurrently being filmed for a documentary, and is now seeing his work on the big screen adapted into a Broadway musical. Hansard isn't slowing down either, as on June 19 he will release his solo debut Rhythm and Repose , via Anti- Records. Much like his Swell Season band mate Marketa Irglova's debut, Hansard's album was also inspired [...]

The 2012 Juno Awards, Canada's version of The Grammys, took place last night, and Feist was the big winner of the evening, taking home the award for Artist Of The Year and Adult Alternative Album Of The Year for Metals . Holiday crooner Michael Buble's Christmas was awarded Album Of The Year, and Drake nabbed Rap Recording Of The Year for Take Care. As Canada is Justin Bieber's home turf, it was only natural that the "Boyfriend" singer walk away with Juno Fan Choice. (Since he was busy [...]

The Juno Awards are 'The Grammys of Canada', where Canadian artists are honored for teaching the world that Canada is the home of AMAZING, KEWL artists. From what I understand, Canada is this utopian place 4 artists to believe that they are valued by society, not just corporate entities. They come to America, make money, then go back to Canada to believe that they are 'still artists.' Here are some photos from the show and a COMPLETE recap of the big winners of the night. The Arcade Fire . [...]
