In October last year I wrote about these boys , Fenech-Soler. At the time, I described their sound as "electro without the re-wiring... pop without the bubblegum" . I was also astounded that were producing such accomplished music, here on their MySpace , being 20 years old and unsigned. Things have changed. One or all of them may have turned 21, but they have also been SIGNED. French dance supremo Alan Braxe has them on his Vulture label and the first release will be out on 11th May! These dudes are my other most recent obsession. And if you haven't heard of Fenech-Soler already, get ready to hear a lot more because they've got a new single coming out on Alan Braxe's Vulture imprint, backed with remixes from Braxe himself and Breakbot. Or, in other words, WOOP! WOOP! WOOP! Fab new band alert! Before you read any further, GO VISIT THEIR MYSPACE HERE and listen to the tracks. This trio from Cambridgeshire, Ross Duffy, Ben Duffy & Dan Francis have a sound all their own. It's electro without the re-wiring. It's pop without the bubblegum. And it's astounding considering they've yet to reach 20 years old and are unsigned. The tracks featured on their MySpace player sound like future classics. Fenech-Soler I can't remember how it happened but a few months ago I stumbled into Fenech Soler and popped them in my "bands to look at later" folder. Fortunately, I did look at them later and was mightily impressed. I got in touch with Ben Duffy from the band who kindly agreed to answer a few questions.
