Based from inside ones mind in Brooklyn, New York this small eclectic label of Small Plates Records is setting a diverse and mindful pace to create a subtle & never-ending eclipse of washed away melodies and uncompromised releases. Showered by an air of confidence that is held in the arms of giant, atmospheric anthems; Hands creates a timely production known as 'Warm Night Home. Unbothered by unnecessary manners and crushed melodies on demand, the remixes coming away from Gracie Originals flood the heart will hope and upmost faith. Gloomy [...]

Emotionally engaging, carefully crafted dream pop songs are the appealing sonic domain of Brooklyn's Field Mouse . The formidable songwriting and recording team of Andrew Futral and Rachel Browne create aural landscapes that can melt the hardest of hearts. Having expanded to a four piece with bassist Danielle DePalma and drummer Geoff Lewit, the group has been playing numerous live shows around the city, slowly building a loyal fan base, as it prepares to release its next record. - Read Dave Cromwell 's interview with the band here [...]

It feels good to get back into the old routine. After SXSW it felt like it'd be awhile since we had a normal week (not that this has been an entirely normal week). Still, there was no way I'd let the week pass without either a Single Serving or a Served Three Ways (Served Three Ways will return next week). This week we have a lot of great new tunes including music recommended to me by Andrianna from Gluttony Is The New Black and discovered courtesy of a showcase hosted by Connor of [...]

This year was my first year in Austin, Texas for South By Southwest (a.k.a. SXSW). If you've never been, or somehow have never heard of the mutant music explosion that is SXSW, let me tell you what it is. SXSW is watching 10-20 bands a day beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 3 a.m. and then getting up early to do it all over again every day for a week. SXSW is struggling to fight through crowds estimated between 60K-100k people to get from one venue to another. SXSW is quickly devouring questionable food from a food truck in between showcases [...]

South by Southwest 2012 has become somewhat of a battle between West Coast and East Coast this year. We're fine with that as the City of Angels has tons to offer for every single type of musical palette, but what about all the L.A. folks heading out there to see something non-local? There are plenty of choices, considering all the international bands have also made the trek. So, to make things easier, here are 10 artists beyond L.A. who will be worth your time: Gary Clark Jr [...]

SXSW has it all in March, namely tons of music from artists you'll be hearing about more in the coming months. In a small series preluding the music session that goes from March 13-18, we'll be focusing in on some of the collective efforts of labels and PR companies collecting in Austin. We wish we could cover every group that is playing down there, but as Bandcamp states, there are over 400 artists going to be there. If you have a label or PR company, big or small, that you want featured, email us with your lineup card. [...]
