Back in October, we called it one of 20 albums to look forward to as 2010 closes, and Spiral Shadow has earned according praise since its release. After Christmas, as BrooklynVegan reports, Kylesa will continue to support the LP with another slew of shows, only a couple months after finishing the last one . Kylesa will be sole headliners this time around, however. Leading up to the previously announced Soundwave Festival shows, the Savannah, Georgia metal band will take a thorough and relatively lengthy trip up and [...]
How did I miss this? Oh, right... I was too busy giving away hundreds of CDs in the best trade EVER! (more on that soon). But while I was busy packing up boxes in exchange for water foul (!?), our pals at Crustcake premiered a new Fight Amp song. For those unawares, Fight Amp are [...]
Before me, Kowloon Walled City were a bunch of nothing nobodies turning tricks in Tenderloin tenements. I discovered them, presented them to the MetalSucks masses, interviewed them, ranked them highly (#10) on my Best Albums of 2009 list... and what do I get? Email after email from frontman Scott Evans bitching and moaning [...]

Intronaut just wrapped up a very successful run opening for Cynic all across the country and are on the verge of releasing a new album. What's a band like that to do? Tour more, obviously. They have just announced they will be direct-support for sludge masters Helmet, and opening the show will be the very ...
I like this time of year. Yeah, the weather's great; it's warm enough that you don't really have to worry about bringing a coat or hoodie out most of the time, but not so hot and sticky that you can't sleep. But I'm talking about the metal: a lot of the bigger bands are over in [...]
by theseseans (NYC)Before you kill yourself this weekend with Eyehategod, Nachtmystium, Brutal Truth, Tombs, and Black Anvil at Europa, do yourself a favor and go out tonight for what is going to fly under the radar as one of this year's best shows: Castevet's record release show at Lit Lounge. Their brand new full length, Mounds Of Ash is probably my first definite for end of year lists, so you
14 songs, 3 obituaries, a rant about elitism and boring drivel about books and tv. Amenra, Devin Townsend, Adam Green, Seabear, Nick Jaina, Prayers For Atheists, Bike For Three, Gil Scott-Heron, Copywrite, Ahab, Egypt, Food, Cable, Fight Amp, hardcore, doom metal, stoner metal, indie,
Fight Amp's new album Manners and Praise came out on Translation Loss and Brutal Panda this past Fall, a steaming brew of stoner grooves and punk rock energy. We've got an exclusive download of the crushing "Faith in Man" from that album which you're welcome to listen to or download for the cost of air! [...]

BLACK TUSK 2010 TOUR DATESFebruary 23 Atlanta, GA

Fight Amp has slipped by a large portion of the metal populace. It might be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen, as there is no shortage of Amphetamine Reptile-worshipping bands now. But while peers like Engineer, Black Cobra, and Akimbo enjoy bigger exposure, Fight Amp has come up with Manners and Praise ( Translation Loss , 2009), an album that's way ahead of the competition. Bitter Son School This sophomore release explores noise rock much further than previous full-length Hungry for [...]
Fight Amp have announced plans for a limited edition pearl white vinyl of their album Manners and Praise through Brutal Panda records. The release will be strictly limited to 500 copies, so get off your ass (well stay on it actually) and visit Brutal Panda's website to pre-order.
I really liked Fight Amp's last album, Hungry for Nothing. But I'm a shitty fan, 'cause I didn't even realize that the band has a new album, Manners and Praise, coming out on Translation Loss on October 26. But I'm aware now! The band is streaming a new song, "Bad Listener," on their MySpace page. And, [...]
TonesOfDeath.com have a metal night the first Thursday of every month at Fontana's in NYC. October's event will be bringing a listening party the new record from Baroness which has definitely already found its way into my favorite albums of the year. The event will also features live performances from Fight Amp, Moth [...]
by The WZA'd (Philly)Despite both Decibel and Relapse being located in Philly, the metal scene isn't very large. Hardcore and Metalcore bands sweep through the area like locusts, but actual metal bands stumble in only once in a while. Luckily, this week we have a show coming in. Fight Amp, who recently put out a split with Black Tusk, are having a special release show at Kung Fu Necktie.
Philly weird-metal purveyors Brutal Panda Records are now taking pre-orders for the previously mentioned Black Tusk/Fight Amp split. This 7" bookends the triptych of splits Black Tusk is releasing this summer, following a 7" with Holy Mountain (No Idea) and Low Country, a 10" mini-LP with North Carolina's ASG on Hyperrealist. John Baizley, taking a break from recording with fellow southern sludge
Black Tusk has a split 10-inch with ASG coming out soon. The split was produced by Phillip Cope of Kylesa, and the artwork is being done by John Baizley of Baroness. It will be called "Low Country," and will be released on Hyperrealist in all relevant formats (that means vinyl, CD, and digital). This is actually one of three Black Tusk splits announced this year, the other two with Holy Mountain

Fight Amp At Pitchfork, I've reviewed Fight Amp , a '90s AmRep throwback whom I suspect has a Danzig fetish. The recording is tough; the guy-girl vocals are tougher. At All Music Guide, I've reviewed Avenger of Blood (German thrash from Las Vegas), Barbara (artful Israeli sickness), Bilk (Croatian drum 'n' bass 'n' rock), Brutus (Caesar-slaying Dutch death metal), Cypher 7 (Bill Laswell-helmed IDM/dub), Last Chance to Reason (Maine calculus-core), The Phantom [...]
