Lots of random news with some good music thrown in between on this post. It seems that I can't keep on top of all of the exciting things that are happening with bands I like of late. - Another Form of Relief favourites The Young Republic have signed a recording contract with End of the Road Records, the label run by the curators of the End of the Road Festival . This is particularly exciting as it's a UK label, meaning [...]

Findlay Brown is the latest singer-songwriter to potentially benefit from having his song on a TV ad. They were everything the other bands weren't, fun, urgent and damn talented. Their sound may not be that original - there's similarities with The Futureheads, Hot Club [...]
[mp3] findlay brown - but you love me on the way back i lost my crown / left the angels got swallowed by the ground / with the fear that i'd never tried / then the tears came, the first i'd ever cried i ran across findlay brown's haunting psychedelic-tinged folk sound on a recent cd sampler from word magazine . people who play the comparison game have referred to findlay as a british simon and garfunkel . in my head, i hear elements of iron and [...]
