Dudes, we have to say something real quick. When we were growing up, we knew this girl who would always eat those blue raspberry-flavored Blow Pops. It would turn her tongue all blue and nasty and we could never take her the least bit seriously because of that. SPARKS , the caffeine/alcohol drink that we're big proponents of (we don't drink it, but in theory it's awesome) does the same thing to anyone who consumes it, but replace blue with orange. Aside from the cops breaking up the party at 1am (a lot of kids were just filtering in), the guys at Finger On The Pulse and Palms Out Sounds brought out the goods with live performances from Tijuana and Sgt. We caught Love Brigade 's new 2009 line this past Friday in China Town and were happily impressed. Finger on the Pulse did a great job pumping out some quality tunes, while the models filled the space in a not-so fashion show style display. The concept of Love Brigade's VIVA LA FUTURE/Ex-Oh line is budget-aware, locally-made to order clothing. Here is the 2nd installment of the Subdrive LIVE at the 2008 BEMF DJ sets! Finger on the Pulse are twin brothers Terry D and DJ Never Forget and together they throw the popular Brooklyn party with the aforementioned FOTP name. They rocked a great mid-afternoon set at the BEMF and now you can hear it in its entirety!
With the twins from Finger on the Pulse and Bradley D holding down the decks, the kids from Girls & Boys landed Luiza from CSS , that Brazilian dance-crazy troupe of rockers, to swing by. The Finger on the Pulse party was packed and was boatloads of fun and Robot Rock was totally the same. We don't think that had anything to do with our lack of coverage, so whatever.
