"Anything We Want" features Fiona at her most delicately flirty: "I kept touching my neck / To guide your eye to where I wanted you to kiss me / When we find some time alone," she sings on the simple, sweet tune. Now that we're only a week or so away from her new album's release, the new Fiona Apple tracks are coming thick and fast. Twenty four hours ago we were letting our brains chomp down on the glory of "Werewolf" and the awesome story behind the screams in it. Another stellar track from Fiona Apple's forthcoming album, the Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do . It's officially dropping in about two weeks, and I'm psyched. Especially if I can expect dark lyricism, emotive vocals, and dramatically performed instrumentation like this!

Tuesday, June 5, 2012 Today's Quick Mention: Do me a favor and head out to the Mohawk tonight for the Couch, the Sour Notes, and Summer Swells. I get the feeling it's going to be a great show.

We were just pointing out the then-lack of interviews ahead of Fiona Apple's 4th album when, lo and behold, they've hit the web in droves. Complete with lengthy, open responses, the article lets you in on just about all you might want to glimpse from behind the curtain of the semi-reclusive songwriter. But now for the most important update: new tunes. Apple has studio [...]

She hits gold once again with 'Werewolf'.

I wrote that song while staying at my mother's apartment up in Harlem. Whenever there's a TV, I put on [Turner Classic Movies]- I always have it on, while I sleep, whatever. I was recording myself doing the song for the first time, and a battle broke out in the movie that was playing. People were shooting and screaming. I liked it, but I couldn't use it from the movie, so I spent literally the next year trying to recreate that sound. I went to San Francisco for Halloween and I was hanging out in trollies recording people screaming. I [...]

We're but two weeks away from the release of Fiona Apple 's new album (deep breath in) The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do . Today comes a new song from the highly anticipated LP, "Werewolf", a song that was inspired by shouting and screaming she heard during a movie on Turner Classic Movies. "I spent literally the next year trying to recreate that sound," says Fiona. "I went to San Francisco for [...]
With the release of Fiona Apple 's The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do (breathe) inching closer, the chanteuse has unveiled a second studio track from the album––one of her favorites, we gather––"Werewolf." The track is as bare as they come, moreso than Idler Wheel 's wonderful first single "Every Single Night," except for a distinct sample of the sound of schoolchildren playing. Apple really got into how that element made it [...]
