For two days in a row now we have new Fiona Apple . Her album The Idler Wheel... is coming on June 19th. Yesterday she gave us " Werewolf ," and today we get the new percussion-heavy (think gently patted hand drums, clicking, and clanking) "Anything We Want." Now that we're only a week or so away from her new album's release, the new Fiona Apple tracks are coming thick and fast. Twenty four hours ago we were letting our brains chomp down on the glory of "Werewolf" and the awesome story behind the screams in it. Now, 24 hours later, we can chomp down on the hopeful rolling and tumbling of "Anything We Want" , complete with kitchen-utensil-sounds at the end. I wrote that song while staying at my mother's apartment up in Harlem. Whenever there's a TV, I put on [Turner Classic Movies]- I always have it on, while I sleep, whatever. I was recording myself doing the song for the first time, and a battle broke out in the movie that was playing. People were shooting and screaming. I liked it, but I couldn't use it from the movie, so I spent literally the next year trying to recreate that sound.
