First Aid Kit “Wolf” The ritualistic burning of humans has never been so hot! But seriously, this song will probably make one of my top lists this year. "Wolf" is directed by Johan Söderberg and is off First Aid Kit's album The Lion's Roar , out now through Wichita . -Alex [...]
Tired? Stressed? 9 out of 10 doctors recommend The Chill Dojo as the most effective drug-free cure for whatever plagues you this Sunday. The 10th doctor suggested we buy some of the home-made herbal remedy he has growing in his basement, but we wouldn't trust it. What you can count on though is this week's selection of good vibrations guaranteed to keep it chill once again. Kicking off this week is some magic chillstep from Rameses B , meshing together the gorgeous vocals of Zo ë Philips [...]

A lot is happening in First Aid Kit 's world. First, the Söderberg sisters will be featuring on several tracks of the new album “The Fire and The Flame” by Blood Music , aka fellow Swede Karl-Jonas Winqvist. The lead single, "Glad That You Called" , is a charming, laidback twee-folk duet, with a cute music video of the three frolicking about in a big greenhouse. STREAM: Blood Music feat. First Aid Kit - Glad That [...]

Amanda Marsalis Cognizant, perhaps, of the fact that Other Worlds , her third album as Taken By Trees , comes out the exact same day that her North American tour supporting both it and Jens Lekman begins - that'd be next Tuesday, October 2 - Victoria Bergsman has thoughtfully made the album available to stream in its entirety; you can hear it over at Prefix . It's a record that keeps the wanderlust feel of its predecessor, East Of Eden , as filtered through [...]
First Aid Kit - Wolf I’m such a god damn sucker for beautiful harmonizing women, I blame my mother.

The video for the Swedish duo First Aid Kit 's latest single " Wolf " stands at an uncanny crossroads between Where The Wild Things Go, the Blair Witch Project and Nikki and The Dove's psychedelic imagery. Their extremely folksy music which harks back to the most infamous folk classic definitely gains in potency thanks to the eye-catching trait of this video.

First Aid Kit are really starting to amek a name for themselves these days. It seems like just yesterday we wrote about them in our short lived "World Tour" segment and now they're all grown up and on their second album which has received great reviews for the duo's harmonies and folk-influenced songwriting. The new video for "Wolf" definitely has ritualistic undertones for the track that the sisters describe as "...our destruction of the planet. But it’s also about finding the animal within you. Because we know that underneath that polished, civilized exterior there is definitely [...]
'Wolf' was a bonus track off First Aid Kit 's second album 'The Lion's Roar' released back in January , and now it's getting its own proper single release. The sister describe the song like this: 'Wolf' is about our destruction of the plant. But it is also about finding the animal within you. Because we know that underneath that polished, civilized exterior there is definitely a wild creature longing to howl or roar. Click here to view the embedded video.
Earlier this summer, Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit wooed thousands of Lollapalooza attendees with their rootsy finger-picked ballads and lush harmonies inspired by the likes of Joan Baez and Buffy Sainte Marie. After their set - the trio played mostly from their gorgeous sophomore LP, The Lion’s Roar - I sat down with the band’s front ladies, the Söderberg sisters. Johanna, 21, and Klara, 19, talked to me about recording with Mike Mogis in Omaha, how Bright Eyes taught them about country music, touring with their parents, and the ups and [...]

Fall has finally begun, and with it, yet another wave of amazing bands are in town playing venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn. After releasing their collab album Love This Giant two weeks ago, David Byrne and St. Vincent will put the new songs on display with three shows planned in the city this week - two at Beacon Theater and one at Williamsburg Park. Other highlights this week? Ty Segall , Craft Spells , Dirty Projectors (in Westchester), Grizzly Bear , Dirty Projectors [...]
First Aid Kit is having quite the good year. Their album The Lion's Roar is selling like hotcakes, their live show keeps getting great reviews and now they are covering musical royalty. Any time you cover one of music's greatest voices and he subsequently stands up to give you a standing ovation; I'm going to call that a win. Bonus points since Paul Simon was wearing a tux. Double bonus points because Edie Brickell is slackjawed midway through the tune. Tweet
First Aid Kit's visually stunning video for Wolf off their latest release The Lion's Roar, available on Wichita Recordings.
First Aid Kit have released a video for their single, “Wolf”, that appears on their recent iTunes Session release. The dreamlike, kaleidoscopic video was shot in the forest of Järvsö, Hälsingland in Sweden by director Johan Söderberg. "It's about our destruction of the planet," said the band. "But it's also about finding the [...]

Frank Yang Cambridge, England quartet Alt-J couldn't have known how prescient they were when they named their debut album An Awesome Wave , as that's pretty much what they've been riding through 2012. Released across the pond in May, it only came out over here officially this past Tuesday - timed to coincide with their inaugural North American tour - but in the interim that wave of buzz had quite definitively crossed the Atlantic, ensuring that arrived on these shores more like heroes than an act with something to [...]
What: "Wolf" is about "our destruction of our planet," say the sisters of First Aid Kit . "But it's also about finding the animal within you." To find their inner lupus , the girls head into the forest of Järvsö in their native Sweden. There, in a kaleidoscope of images and arboreous colors, a scene plays out like The Crucible with werewolves. First Aid Kit’s latest LP, The Lion’s Roar , is available now on Wichita Recordings.
