Fuck you #Sandy the #frankenstorm . To hell with everybody who keeps ignoring global warming issues in politics and not trying to reduce your global footprint somehow. We're all guilty of this in many ways. I hope we survive this natural disaster and it does not become some apocalyptic scene. Anyway here's a playlist of a bunch of songs about inclement weather, rain, sleet, floods and snow to help you brave this situation. Playlist for badweather: 01. If you haven't already done so, add Brooklyn's Johanna Cranitch to the ever expanding list of (sm)art/pop synth-esses who tap into the classic progressive vibe of Kate Bush while exuding the more contemporary feel of Bjork, Imogen Heap and Bat For Lashes' Natasha Khan. Dreamy electronics and some ethereal, multi-tracked vocals still need a solid melodic line and Cranitch -- as her "band" Johanna & The Dusty Floor -- finds a sweet one on her latest single and free download "Fishbones." And for the visual icing on the cake, Cranitch and director Jeaneen Lund [...]
