A couple years ago I saw Fitz and the Tantrums open for Flogging Molly at Red Rocks in what was a really fun set. Since then, I've seen them play sold out shows in Denver and Colorado Springs and receive a good deal of buzz. On Saturday (1/15), they're headlining at the Ogden with support from Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and American Tomahawk in what promises to be a great way to start out 2012. If you haven't already gotten your ticket for this show, we'd like [...]
Mayer Hawthorne , Fitz & The Tanturms , and Gnarls Barkley are among the pioneers in the neo-soul movement. Since I hate when bloggers write some word like "neo-soul" and expect the reader to know what they mean by it, I'll explain in a bit more detail. To me, neo-soul is a word I thought I made up just 5 seconds ago, but found out is a more commonly used word in the world of music; I can't say I'm surprised though... It refers to the revival of soul music from the Motown-era, maybe even a little afterwards. [...]

With the horizon of a new year seemingly inches away, we're proud to present our best songs of 2011. We have been slaving over albums and hidden tracks for the past month, but now the beginning of our five-part list of the best of the best. 50. The Airborne Toxic Event - Half of Something Else Very similar to 20082s "Sometime Around Midnight", TATE is back with a similar formula and not a bad album either. I guess if you've got the chemistry down, why change it? 49. Radiohead [...]
