Here at the empire of Danger! Danger! we've (or me) have always been in love with Keenhouse, but now.. We love him even more. Hahaha, you see with I did there? I threw a curv-ball right there, swisch!!! But seriously, I love what he does. So let's get down to business, the remix by Anoraak was featured on the Dreamwave Hour 2 compilation album by Binary . And let me tell you, that compilation album is a total eargasm for dreamwave fans like me, and deserve all the downloads it can [...]

Check out the feature that just went up on Spin.com about FITZ & THE TANTRUMS being " the most technically adept and pop-ready, and probably the only guy mentioned here who deserves more attention " of the list of eight artists in the "White Soulboy Invasion". We just learned that Fitz' album, " Songs For A Break-Up Vol. 1 " (Future Sounds Records) is the #9 most played record on [...]

BBC Radio 2 super DJ, Steve Lamacq opened up his most recent show with FITZ & THE TANTRUMS' " Breakin' The Chains Of Love " before dipping into the latest Arctic Monkeys track. You can still listen to the whole show for another day or so if you visit here . alt=rss

Tonight for the ASCAP showcase at The Troubadour, it's FITZ & THE TANTRUMS + KENAN BELL and others. Fitz is on at 9:30pm. alt=rss

Special treat today. Fresh from Keenhouse's keyboard comes his new remix for Fitz And The Tantrums . Keenhouse's productions speak for themselves (yes... this is why he's on Binary ) and we really believe that at the top of his game he's as good as anyone in the business. This remix right here is the perfect example of just what he can do when he's working with some great vocals. I imagine that Ken knew this would be a funloving summer track from the moment he heard those throwback crooning vocals. What emerged is [...]

This is the first proper video for Los Angeles soul act Fitz & the Tantrums which does a great job showcasing the band, despite the corny rocker chick. If you haven't seen Fitz yet, it's definitely a great experience, and coming this fall, you'll get to see himself outside of LA, as he will be opening a string of west coast dates for Flogging Molly. Watch this space for more info. 9/10 - Radisson - Sacramento, CA 9/11 - Fox Theatre - Oakland, CA 9/12 - Greek Theatre - Los Angeles, CA 9/14 - [...]
Fitz' & the Tantrums' "Breakin' the Chains of Love" might be the best 1960s song made 40 years late. Next week, that song [downloadable here ], along with "Winds of Change" [video above], will get a proper release on Fitz's debut EP, "Songs for a Break-Up, Vol. 1." Already out on iTunes, it's garagey soul that's the stuff of wounded hearts and sleepless nights. Fitz's secret weapon in the band is his female foil, Noelle Scaggs — yeah, she's got some pipes too, and it's a great 1-2 punch. Before Fitz goes out on a September tour with [...]

[Birthday greetings go out today to Paul McCartney ... in L.A. tonight we have something of a Brooklyn Invasion:] Brooklyn's White Rabbits new album "It's Frightening" was produced by Britt Daniel of Spoon, and the music brims with the same spare-but-urgent qualities (that's the video for "Percussion Gun," above). The sextet headlines the Troubadour tonight with fellow Brooklyners the Subjects . ... Also in from the borough is electro-pop trio Chairlift [pictured], who made their mark with the song from the [...]

I love a good cover song, and this one definitely qualifies. Headless Heroes is a project covering some obscure and not-so-obscure artists, and features Alela Diane doing a great version of Nick Cave's "Nobody's Baby Now", one of my favourite Cave songs. The Silence of Love project covers artists from Daniel Johnston to The Jesus & Mary Chain, with each song being about love and loss. Our gain, if you ask me. MP3: Headless Heroes "Nobody's Baby Now" Stream: [...]
Los Angeles by way of France soul singer Fitz (just one name apparently) wrote "Breakin' The Chains of Love" the night he bought an old church organ from a neighbor for fifty bucks. In fact, the old instrument inspired an EPs worth of retro-soul and Motown-influenced material titled Songs For A Break-UP, Vol. 1 . For fans of Sharon Jones and Mark Ronson, this song's worth a listen.

Not only is tonight's Viper Room show a HELLYA! night, it's also sweet Heather's birthday party - so tonight's line up is like a who's who of the artists rising in LA. Of course dear to the FS hearts you have DJANGO JAMES & THE MIDNIGHT SQUIRES and FITZ & THE TANTRUMS playing back to back, but then you throw in DR SEAHORSE and ROB ROY . Doors at 9pm [...]
