But the path between music and modeling is not a one-way street. It's just as [...]
Today my son Elias turns 2. Kind of unbelievable how fast time flies. He is pure happiness all the time and has changed my life completely (in a good way of course). Over the past few weeks... [go to the website to read the rest of the article, download mp3s and more]

Five O'Clock Heroes . Interesting name, hard band to place. I've never heard of them before, and being that Different Times is their third album, it seems that word hasn't spread too far for the New York band. You know, the place where I pretty much live and search out every band from… I've listened to the album about three times now, and I must say that it's considerably grown on me. I didn't really like it the first time through, but now I know what to expect and appreciate it a [...]
I was going to write about Five O'Clock Heroes last single as I liked it a lot and it seemed to fit the whole ‘guilt free pleasures’ element of our site. Indie pop with guitars that makes you smile, but gain’s you no credibility with muso hipsters who attend ATP. Thankfully, their follow up single City of Light is just as good. If you get past the opening 15 seconds, which seem to have no bearing

Five O'Clock Heroes are my kind of band. Just some cool bros with cool haircuts and a couple of beards. All just hanging out in a bar providing the soundtrack to an apparent threesome/rape fantasy involving the Latin Mark Wahlberg and two Am Appy models. But like any good fantasy, Latin Mark Wahlberg ends up back in his much more terrible real life, apparently as a jizz mopper.

A nice reminder of what ‘80s rock – at its best – can be. FiveOClockHeroes_RoughBoys.mp3 Five O'Clock Heroes - Rough Boys Download read more

New York band Five O’ Clock Heroes make very “New York” style music. What I mean by that is just very smooth, “cool” indie rock music that easy to groove to. (Hopefully with a pair of Raybans on) Their single “Rough Boys” is bouncy, catchy, and just straight up a good time. If you fancied The Virgins, definitely give these boys a listen. The band worked with engineer and producer Gus Oberg who has worked with such no namers as The Strokes and Bloc Party in the past. Their album, Different Times, comes out on February 15th. [...]
Given the volume of music available for consideration on One Track Mind, we invariably have to pass on a lot of tasty morsels. [tweetmeme] In a desire to share even more great, free music with you, the Sunday Sampler offers a handful of tracks without the usual critical and biographical write-up. Less talk, more tunes. My routing when driving to work during the week consists of listening to Mike and Mike in the morning. Their "East Coast" bias is never too large to get in the way of a good story, but the alternative is listening to a mediocre local show on 87.7 the Ticket . Mike and Mike brought up a point that was interesting in the case of Michael Vick. A lot of people expected Vick to be well rested after spending plenty of time in the clink. Those same people didn't expect the second coming of [...]

From the inbox: Ugh, I'm gonna have to gush over this song. Five O'Clock Heroes show huge restraint in not shouting out the refrain "Rough Boys!" and it's that light touch that pushes this fresh piece of Jammy pop over the top. Five O'Clock Heroes: Rough Boys.mp3

Today's song is "Rough Boys" by Five O'Clock Heroes . This song will be off their anticipated album Different Times . The February 15th release will mark the first time their music will be properly released in the United States. Their other two albums, Bend To The Breaks (2006) and Speak Your Language (2007), were confined to the shores of Europe and the UK. Different Times was recorded during a scant five day stretch in the studio with Grammy winning engineer and producer Gus Oberg (The Strokes, Bloc Party, Albert Hammond Jr.). [...]

After two European-only releases (2006's Bend To The Breaks and 2007's Speak Your Language ), NYC-based, Anglo-American power-poppers Five O'Clock Heroes will take a run at music fans on these shores staring February 15th with Different Times . When a band's name is an allusion to a much-beloved song by The Jam, and the title of their lead single is shared by a Pete Townsend staple, astute listeners should have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
