Fiveng is the solo outlet for Bay-area musician Nicholas Ng. Call it what you want - bedroom pop, chillwave, dreampop, glo-fi - the end result is the same; great independent aquatic pop music. The harmonies and melodies all feel like they're being played 20,000 leagues under the sea yet still, at heart, plays like the best type of pop. Fiveng - Jonah Not much to say on this guy from San Francisco other then the fact I think you should give it a listen. I also suggest you listen to Soft Lights.
And for our very first post of the decade...(drumroll) I'll be tipping my hat to Delicious Scopitone for pointing me to San Francisco's Fiveng . The solo bedroom pop project of Christopher Ng carries that oh-so-familiar sound of just a dude and his laptop, but there's something comfortably surrounding underlying here that draws me in.
