Denverites Ethan, Alex, and Taylor are the electro-pop trio better known as Flashlights. On March 1st, they released a remix EP for their previous release "So Close To Midnight." The collection includes remixes by artists such as Fabian, Brothertigher, L E IT, and Nights. Although it has taken us a while to finally listen to [...]
" Slow Magic is the sound made by an unknown imaginary friend." Although this is as much as I really know about the masked-performing artist, his brand of dreamwave has gotten me hooked for the past couple of months. If his latest remix of Flashlights' "Slow Down" is any sign of the quality of music that he produces, Slow Magic is definitely a producer you should be keeping an eye out for in the next couple of weeks. All I have to say is this: Giraffage feat. XXYYXX - Even Though (Slow Magic Remix). This is going to be [...]

After recently releasing th eir second EP 'So Close To Midnight' , Denver duo Flashlights have enlisted the help of masked producer Slow Magic to give their track "Slow Down" a little make over. continue reading >>
This edition of Monday Threesome revolves around a specific scene, rather than a sound. While not typically thought of as a hotbed of musical creativity, Denver, Colorado has produced several quality bands of late, each one opting for a different sonic template to manifest their Rocky Mountain roots. By now, the story behind indie-pop darlings Tennis (@tennisinc) has become that of legend. A husband/wife duo embarked on a seven month expedition on the Atlantic Ocean, using their travels at sea as inspiration for [...]

Every Wednesday for a month now, Denver's electro-pop outfit Flashlights have been giving away a new track from their forthcoming EP 'So Close To Midnight'. Today sees the final piece of the puzzle revealed with the premier of the EP's title track. continue reading >>
Wow, what a week it has been not only for nu-disco, but for music in general. Last week when we last posted, Whitney Houston was still alive and Skrillex had yet to win a mind-blowing 3 Grammys. At times like this, in an ever changing musical landscape, I'm glad that I can always rely on a consistent source of nu-disco to get me through the weekend. In this week's edition, I've decided to include tracks like Goldroom 's massively catchy remix to Lancelot's "We Can Dance" and Eat More Cake 's rendition of Whitney Houston's classic "Wanna Dance [...]
Fabian's "Fireworks" remix chooses to keep Flashlights' vocals in the spotlight, but replaces the original's synth heavy focus with a nu-disco inspired piano. Flashlights - "Fireworks
When we did our feature on Binary Entertainment last August, a band that particularly caught our attention was the electronic, pop duo FLASHLIGHTS , who consist of band members Ethan Converse and Sam Martin Rande. Although they're no longer with the label (for reasons I do not know), FLASHLIGHTS are planning to release a brand-new EP as unsigned artists. Called "So Close To Midnight," the band has been kind enough to release two, upcoming tracks from the release titled "Ruby Sun" and "Fireworks." FLASHLIGHTS - Ruby Sun What's so interesting about the atmosphere [...]

The two the reason why Light-weight Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are preferred through incandescent lights and fluorescents lights are: 1) LEDs use up minimal strength and a pair of) LEDs just about aren't getting breated. Both of these most important characteristics of Brought caused it to be well liked in lots of electronic digital purposes, one of which is the Brought flashlight . Like flashlights now flooding industry subsequently, abandoning buyers bewildered in respect of which flashlight will be worth getting. That can help buyers make a decision on the flashlight to obtain, workout: 1. The watt standing [...]
In case you missed it, the lineup for this year's Snowball Music Festival was announced recently and it's totally nuts. Any festival set in Vail, Colorado would be something to pay attention to regardless, and this year the promoters went all-out on the talent by snagging Snoop Dogg, Bassnectar, Rusko, TV on the Radio, Big [...]
Flashlights returns and better than ever! This time they release their newest single "Fireworks" off their upcoming EP So Close To Midnight which is due to release this Spring. This alternative/dance oriented sound is vintage and is exactly what the music industry needs. I look forward to what is next from the upcoming EP. Enjoy! [...]
Fresh from their critically acclaimed 'Hidden Behind Trees' EP for Binary, Denver Synth outfit Flashlights are back with a new single, 'Fireworks'. Injecting a little more ElectroPop into their dreamtime synth sound with 'Fireworks', Flashlights combine an '80's Indie vocal with layers of crisp electronics for a sound more inclined to the upbeat and catchy, as we first heard with "'New Hampshire II'. It's a nice direction for Flashlights to be going in, with something about it that recalls mid-'80's British Indie as well as the melodic ElectroPop at it's core. It's catchy as hell too! [...]

The first round of the NFL playoffs is upon us, and let's be real Bronco fans, there's no real expectation for the home team. The Donkeys are an 8 pt underdog at home. It's in this type of position that my beloved Donkeys excel the most when there is no expectations. The underachieving team wasn't meant to get this far. Three to Four victories were expected and now all of a sudden they've backed into the playoffs as the AFC West champions. It's the Las Vegas equivalent of going into a casino and putting in a [...]
Mel Has A Problem by flashlights A new set of tracks with an old sound from Florida band Flashlights. The group's latest album, I'm Not Alone , features a pretty catchy and accessible mixture of pop punk and indie rock. The track Mel has a problem has some guitar riffs that remind me a lot of the 2011 British Sea Power track "Who's In Control?." These guys ain't exactly breakin' new ground, but they've got this style down path, and they compliment it with a messy, lo-fi recording, too.

Fresh from their inclusion in our 'Tracks of 2011' mixtape , Denver's electro whizz's Flashlights are back with news of EP #2, along with a new track, "Fireworks". continue reading >>

Chrome Sparks - Still Sleeping ( Flashlights remix) [ photo ] I'm happy to give you a first listen, together with my friend Jake over at Speaker Snacks , to Chrome Sparks latest dream, Still Sleeping (featuring the sister Steffaloo ) and it's new gentle, yet thorough, rework by the Denver's electro-pop swoon-inducing, Flashlights . There's going to be a whole slew of these remixes set to release [...]
Flashlights , who released the awesome 'Hidden Behind Trees' EP on Binary earlier this year, have dropped a brand new track. Taken from the GoldRush Festival artist's compilation album, their follow up to the EP's 'New Hampshire', 'New Hampshire Part II' is more traditional ElectroPop, upbeat and catchy, compared the the atmospheric Chillwave of the original. The track still retains a distant mysteriousness though, but contrasts that with bouncy synths and uplifting retro chords. Lush and swirling ElectroPop at it's finest, 'New Hampshire Part II' is a track that slides into your brain and starts soundtracking your life. [...]
![THE BARR BROTHERS LIGHT IT UP WITH FLASHLIGHTS [BUZZSESSION]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3852664_lg.jpg)
The singular release listed on iTunes under The Barr Brothers is a deceiving indicator. The Montreal/Rhode Island-based folk quartet is an experienced and diverse collective featuring, you guessed it, brothers Brad and Andrew Barr (both formerly of The Slip ), as well as Andres Vial, and the beautiful Sarah Page. A few weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to film with them in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. With flashlights in hand, we illuminated the band and proceeded to film them as they performed "Cloud (For Lhasa)" and "Deacon's Son" off of their 2011 [...]
