Flashmen is the result of a collaboration between Bradley D, a DJ from Brooklyn, and Daniel E, a singer/songwriter from Chicago. Over the last few months, they've been blowing up on the web, with lots of major bloggers giving them props for their excellent releases. Their track "As The Night Rolls On" was recently remixed by NightWaves, who added their magical touch to this groovy disco tune. Flashmen - As The Night Rolls On (NightWaves Remix) Flashmen's silky smooth sound is built around classic 80s synths and [...]

Moullinex and Xinobi's first Patron Shots! I hate to toot my own horn and bang my own drum, BUT FRIDAY WAS AMAZING! Probably my favorite TILT ever! Every performance was sooo on point! Short Circuit totally busted us a solid dose of Dreamwave // Killed By Synth got the dancefloor poppin'! // Keenhouse set the tone and had everyone dancing and chanting his songs // Keith Masters and Nogrady came with sick raps and Futurecop Beats // FUTURECOP! owned the night and came correct with keytars and 80's synths, had everyone in the house [...]

If last Friday's turnout at Igloofest is any indication, we can say with confidence that Dubstep is quickly exploding in popularity. A lot of you who are hearing it for the first time might be saying to yourselves: "yea its cool music, but how the hell are you supposed to dance to it?" It's a valid question, but your friends at The New Montreal are here to help. This may be my favorite YouTube video ever, it will teach you everything you need to know about dancing to dubstep. I'll be breaking this move out all night at Emalkay next [...]

Just thought I would post a remix I (pic courtesy of thecultureofme ) did for Brooklyn group Flashmen this past summer. Been sitting on it for a while, but finally decided to let it out in the while. I hope you enjoy. If you like it, check out my myspace for some more. enjoY! Flashmen - As the Night Rolls On (Jemex Remix)

Brooklyn boy Jemex just passed a remix he did for Brooklyn² group Flashmen . He took a few elements of the original and added some of his own to take the track in a total different direction. Successfully – this is a very well-rounded remix, if not the pick of the bunch of As The Night Rolls On . Mp3: Flashmen – As The Night Rolls On (Jemex Remix)
This track is not that new, but it's Flashmen 's latest one and it's great. So when we got a superb remix of this track by Brooklyn-based Jemex it was time for "As the Night Rolls On" to get some blog-time. I have already written about Flashmen (also from Brooklyn) in August last year when I praised their "Little Wildkat" and I feel a little bit of shame leaving them out of my "Best of 2009" list with that fantastic tune. We were also among the first blogs to post their remix of [...]
We've been meaning to apologize really to one of our favorite acts of 2009, Flashmen, since we posted our "Top 24" breakdown last week. Without any charades we have to admit that, while we didn't enumerate anything on the list...

Found this new remix to PGDM's anti-social anthem Leave Me Alone . It's a pretty catchy rework with plenty of pop-based synth scattered throughout. Even with the depressing theme this song is bumpin'. I love the feel good vibes throughout. Infernal Devices are from Brooklyn, NY. Andy (keys) and Guy (drums) recently made some noise last summer with the release of a stellar mix to the Flashmen's Little Wildcat . I included it below to sample if you haven't heard it. The two have great rhythm [...]

Thought I'd stick up a few little bits that are quite energetic and fun, the sort of thing one might play in a nightclub, or similar setting. First up, the Le Matos remix of We Have Band. Nice compressed arpeggiator thing going on, little paino stabs that chill it all out, cool vocal. I like it, it's kind of electroclash, makes me think of the sort of record Tiga would play 5 or 6 years ago. Future-trance. We Have Band - Honey Trap (Le Matos Remix) Second [...]

Full of creamy glossy moments this is a delicious slice of dream disco. Nightwaves have dripped glorious contours of synths and swhirls all over this Noah and the Whale track.. Simply gorgeous.... grab some earphones and drift into this. MP3 Noah and the Whale - Love of an Orchestra (NightWaves Remix) Bonus Flashmen - As The [...]

The incandescent NightWaves crafted two highly polished, highly awesome space disco remixes of Flashmen 's " As The Night Rolls On " and Noah and the Whale 's " Love Of An Orchestra ." Get your ambient on. Flashmen - As The Night Rolls On (NightWaves Remix) Noah and the Whale - Love Of An Orchestra (NightWaves Remix)

A couple of our favorite Binary crew/Dreamwave DJs, NightWaves , have returned with new remixes for some great tracks. First we have a remix of Flashmen's As The Night Rolls On . MOKB fell hard for the Flashmen after 2009's SXSW , and we are still eagerly awaiting a their cover of The Outfield's Your Love , supposedly(?) still in the works . [...]
Hey! Remember all this year when Flashmen, the all-over-the-US group of guys that lit ablaze the dreamwave world with a more studied 80s approach to both music and the business model of "singles singles singles"? Well, why not wrap up...
Super rad to finally get to hang with the Famous Friends kids as they "co-curated" the final day at the dim sum-cum-party haven 88 Palace in Chinatown last Friday night alongside the lovelies in MeanRed for their 72-hour "Shanghai'd" parties....
So here it is, the wrap-up from Thursday, October 22, the day that we joined forces with the raddest bitch in the game, Sheena Beaston, and threw a CMJ showcase/party at Europa in Greenpoint. The show featured seven acts and...
Last night was a fun night for everyone who came out to Europa to watch NY and Chicago rock the stage. It was great CMJ party thrown by fellow friends/bloggers Hannah from Sheenabeaston (who was great to finally meet after all our twitter exchanges) and Jeff from The Culture of Me . They really put together an awesome line up that was perfect for the venue. The free PBR from 9-10 was the perfect way to start the night off, and by the time PBR dream ended, Tempo No Tempo had came on to [...]
A birthday celebration complete with the raddest Twitter-themed cake you'll ever see in your life, this past Saturday night's Discovery disco party at Santos Party House paid respects to Famous Friends head Ruthie, Damon Jablons (another in a long lineage...
