Photos and words by G. Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingam - MSG 2013 The Mac is back! On April 7, 2013, Fleetwood Mac tore the roof off the sold out Madison Square Garden in New York. I've been a Fleetwood Mac fan for as long as I can remember, and I have seen them in concert about 10 times since they reunited in 1997 plus numerous solo shows by both Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Separately, they are geniuses in their own right, but when they get [...]

As it continues a series of reunion concerts, Fleetwood Mac is previewing some original music - its first in a decade - including the newly composed "Sad Angel," as well as an unreleased demo from the Buckingham Nicks sessions. "Sad Angel" begins with a staccato guitar signature, as Buckingham launches into one of his patented hurtful yodels, only to be [...]

By Sasha Hecht & Caitlin White Why would an artist ever choose to cover a song? I mean, seriously. Nine times out of ten, their efforts are met with something between "Not bad... but nothing compared to the original" and "This has ruined my favorite song for me forever. I hope you go septic and poison yourself from the inside out with your own feces." Often, cover songs are an attempt by a younger artist to assert their skill level as on par with a classic musician—and usually the two aren't actually equal. [...]

The FLEETWOOD MAC score first top 20 hit in 25 years, all thanks to Three UK's 'Dance Pony Dance' campaign. The mp3 in use is EVERYWHERE from the band's 1987 LP which climbed 72 places up the singles chart to number 15 in the past week. It previously reached number 4 in the chart in 1988. I fear an astronomical obsession with the MAC about to kick in again.

Here's one of those musical adventures that warrants a second, third and fourth listen. And yet, it feels like it could be in a movie about cars and night driving (hah). But in all seriousness, the inherent eighties-ness of this track makes it both charming and nostalgic without the age to back it up. It's today. But it also takes you away and holds your hand while you travel down a road that I can only imagine is similar to that rainbow intergalactic space road on Mario Kart where you can't fall off the edge otherwise you fall into space. [...]

There was a piece I read via The Wild Honey Pie last week, a piece about the writer having revisited Fleetwood Mac's perfect Rumours album. The writer talked about how falling in love with that album gave her a greater understanding of her mother, who had once fallen in love with it, too. It reminded me of my own relationship with my mother, of riding to the grocery store with her as she blasted it and as I whined about it. As she vacuumed the house with those songs (the ones you never hear on the [...]
