New film, Snow White and the Huntsmen is out in June, and the soundtrack will feature an all new Florence and the Machine track, 'Breath of Life'. The movie stars the Twilight Saga's Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron as the Queen Raveena, the character Florence took her inspiration for the track from. "The Queen is just this incredible character; so hungry for life but so dead inside. She's sort of eternal, but inside there's nothing. She's kind of like charcoal or something. She has this thirst for youth and [...]

Sountrack-wise, Florence Welch is moving on from the fanged undead to a dark fairy tale. Florence + The Machine will follow up the Twilight Saga: Eclipse tune "Heavy In Your Arms" — not to mention, of course, album Ceremonials — with the Snow White And The Huntsman contribution "Breath Of Life". A blink-and-you'll-miss-it preview clip of Flo recording the track shows her standing in front of a microphone, with a full orchestra and a choir in tow. Catch it below. [...]

Remixes are a frequent commodity taking an original and trying to either amp it up or add a creative twist; sometimes it's the ones that simply re-format that are most successful. Brazilian Alex Dias , whose received support from Carl Cox on his productions, provides a brilliant tech interpretation that'll have your hands in the air halfway through the track. This is a free download, so please do yourself a favor and add this one to a playlist as soon as possible. Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over (Alex Dias Remix)

Posted in Soundbite 'Never Let Me Go' is one of the more typical style ballads on Florence + The Machine's Ceremonials, but with the help of Clams Casino it's been given a massive re-work. Paired back, sparse and powerful. Seems right for Sunday Supplement. Enjoy.

Sometimes great music from the UK never makes it over the pond. I'm never really sure why, like how come Duffy never spent time in the lime light here in the US? Either way, I don't think I Am Harlequin , will have the same issue. The musical climate is perfect for her style. She comes across as a more poppy version of Florence + The Machine and I have no qualms with that. In fact, I openly invite any music that resembles Florence + The Machine, and I don't think I'm alone. [...]

This is, hands down, the best Florence remix that has ever been done. The track premiered on GvB and I am in complete and total agreement with them when they say, " the last minute of which is among the most powerful things we've heard this year. " It really is a rousing, pulse-pounding remix. Shouts to Clams Casino for this one. Follow me @OceanPdestrians . Florence + the Machine - Never [...]

Florence + The Machine have had a good few weeks. An NME, an awesome collaboration with The Horrors and the penultimate slot on Saturday night at Reading Festival. And now comes this little nugget. If hip-hop producer Clams Casino sounds familiar, we've posted another of his remixes before, when he took on Washed Out , and now he's done it again with Flo's Never Let Me Go . It's a good'n. The song will accompany the version found on Ceremonials , in a limited edition, hand-numbered 180-gram white vinyl [...]
With one of the most impressive lineups we've seen in a while, Osheaga 2012 sounds like a music fest that may be impossible to top for the revelers who attend. Against the scenic backdrop of Parc Jean-Drapeau on Saint Helen's Island -- an isle just off the coast of Montreal -- local acts like Half Moon Run and Karim Ouellet will be joined by headliners that include Florence and the Machine, The Black Keys, and Snoop Dogg. Camping is prohibited at the site, but booze and snacks aren't, so long as they're purchased from one of the festival [...]
